My new to me ZX-14
I just picked up a 06 kawasaki ZX14 off my cousin for basically nothing. He hardly rode it & the bike itself only has 2k on it. He did a fair amount of work to it including alot of airbrushing(to promote his tattoo/airbrushing business), a full satin black respray, full muzzy cf exhaust, pc3, K&N etc... I never owned a bike this big my past bikes being two gsxr 600's, a triumph S3, and a cbr 600 rr, but I have my license a decent amount of time in the saddle, I've done the safety course & I have a good amount of respect for the power these bikes can make. Some mods I plan over the winter are a stretched swingarm, a custom seat, some more airbrushing & led's/bike bling. I haven't rode in two years so it will feel good to get a few days in before it gets to cold. Gonna take it slow at first till I get used to the bike.

very nice. I had the unfortunate pleasure of replacing the wiring harness on one of those. The Immoblizer system had something wrong with it and the owner tried to fix it. new ECU+harness=alot $$$. just throwing that out there for future reference if you have problems starting it

Its a Japanese thing. They like to base their bikes off of animals and stuff. My bike looks like a bird to some people

Nice bike. I have given some thought to buying one. Any feedback on feel compared to your 600's? I always wondered if I would miss the smaller bike feel.

I actually like it. It's much more comfy on longer trips than my 600's. It also actually corners well for a bigger bike, well that is until I do the big tire in the rear. I always wanted a larger cc bike for a wide tire kit which is my primary motive in buying this bike. Down the road I hope to buy a second bike for flicking in the corners, but this one is a keeper. I actually felt the bmw s1000rr was alot faster. I was able to get one for a test drive for the weekend awhile back. I feel with anybike no matter the size of the motor, you should treat it with great respect. I always ride very cautiously & I trust in karma

My son loves my bike as much as me. I'm done riding for the year & started to break the bike down for some more customization. New rearsets, wheels, brake lines, seat, misc. electrical & performance goodies to be done by the spring. Gonna be a long winter

I had time today to get the seat skin on.
Hopefully later on I'll find time to tackle the gpr damper. Some of the other goodies are just starting to arrive at my door. These are only about 1/2 of what I ordered up & the reason I worked alot of ot the past few months. I'll keep updating this thread as I go, prob by spring when I get it all put back together I'll break out the good camera & will start a new thread with some better pics. I didn't want to invest a ton of $ right no into wheels because I know down the road I'll be buying a set of pm's, as part of my wide tire/turbo upgrade, but that's prob a year away.

Put the GPR damper on tonite took about 5 minutes, but it'll be good insurance just in case. I also broke out my better camera for a good pic of my airbrushed front cowl. I'm debating having the front fender done too, but don't want it to be too much. The guy my cousin used to paint the bike did a great job even using matte clear on the airbrushed parts to keep in theme with the rest of the bike.

Just got her back today from round one of my winter mods. She made 185whp on the dyno, but I hope to make more with the custom tune. She's on a basic dynojet program now, but running much better & zero pooping from the voo doo. Big difference with the sprockets, bmc filter, flies removed & the PC5 etc... Didn't get on it too much with the cold roads & new tires. Next up is 2" lowering front/rear, mps shifter install & then have it custom mapped. Just ordered my kill box & I'm excited for the spring.

Prob did, I usually don't ride in the winter, but with it getting up to 60's on some days I take her out for a short spin to the gym.

Brocks links are on & the muzzy fan:
I have a brocks strap kit for the front too, but will prob only use it at the track. Waiting for a few parts yet on the mps shifter, but hope to have that done within the next 2-3 weeks then it's off for a custom map. Sorry for the iphone pic, but that's all I had on hand.
