Most would say yes. I'd agree because that's a lot of bike. I love my bike but I wouldn't have bought it if I didn't buy a sportster first.

They're no harder to ride then the cb750 i started out on (am still on) and took my test on.

if you're stupid with it its going to kill you...plain and simple. If you're careful you'll be ok. Is it stretched at all? that would present a problem.

I suggest buying an old beater bike to begin with, you can have a nice old honda magna or interceptor for less then a grand. good bikes to learn on

as long as you respect it

first bike I ever rode was my 05 R1, I knew it would kill me plain and simple so I took my time and all was well.

The power of the bike doesn't matter if you can have enough self discipline to not twist the throttle until you know what you're about to get yourself into

Just because its a rocket doesnt mean you have to ride it like one. I know my bike can do 150 (been there) but I ride it like a granny because I want to top 100,000 miles on it. I cant tell you the amount of times I hear people get killed on big bikes for their first ride because they dont respect it. And it takes years to get good at riding. Ive been riding for 4 years and i still learn new things everyday

well considering 08 busa's can run 8.90s bone stock i'd say pay attention to what your doing while riding it.

if you've never rode before then i would say yes. given the information above though, as long as you dont act stupid you'll be fine.

well taking in the mixed reviews, im passing on the turbo busa for a few reasons after relating a few things on how i buy things as well as others opinions...

First bike i kinda dont wanna get in head over heals on it
I always told myself never buy modded cars (same will go for bikes)
I wanna live for at least another 15 years just so i can get my vette lol

onto better news, a woman from my work her husband does custom paint jobs on bikes as a side gig. He has in his possesion a 06 CBR600RR? with 2500 on the dash and he wants to sell it to me for 3k cash. i was gonna give him 100 bucks a week i figure im not gonna ride it until spring anyways so whats the rush? i think i will be more suitable for that application. now for your opinions i would like to hear them as i respect them

respecting the bike is great and goes far, but the better reason why supersports arent recommended is because theyre meant for racing, not street duty.... this means that the throttle travel is less, the brake is mad sensitive, the steering is responsive, etc

respecting a bike only works until you hit that bump and your hand turns the throttle 1/8 inch more. without experience and practice the chances that that 1/8 inch more will put you on the ground are much higher. more street oriented bikes are much more forgiving of rider mistakes, which you ARE likely to make while learning regardless of what youre riding, how much you respect its power, etc. and yes, a 600rr is 100% race replica

imagine learning how to drive on an 800hp turbo corvette racecar, except that if you do something stupid it will spit you out and come rolling after you instead of just stall/wrap around a tree

Do you have your license yet? Have you taken the free safety course? If not, I'd recommend starting there.

Something sounds fishy as hell with that bike. RRs with 2500 miles on them do not fly for 3K.

Not to mention, you can't afford it. How are you gonna buy all your gear if you're only capable of paying out a 100 a week for the bike?

Starting out on a turbo busa, or an RR, or anything like that is just asking for problems. You're never going to learn how to control the throttle on a bike that doesn't let you make a mistake. You're just going to end up as an "upright" rider... as in someone who only uses the throttle in a straight line.

Get yourself an SV650 or even an older CBR F2/F3. They are good combinations of reliable starter bikes that aren't disappointingly slow. Still though, you will need to be careful with them, my F2 bit me in the ass when I first got on it so they're no slouch.

a cbr 600 is a good starter bike as long as you have an idea of the power it has, i began riding when i was little on dirtbikes then moved to street bikes and eventually worked my way up to an r1. still unless you know the seller, a cbr600 for under 3k sounds really fishy especially since hes letting you make 100$ payments
