Take you fender off, the fender well out & check for rust there. While your in there clean out the drain. The drain gets clogged which leads to the rust. The fix looks good from the top, i'm hoping mine comes out just a good.

The rust was cut out, metal patches were welded in and then painted. The underside was then painted with undercoating. I cannot take credit for the work as the previous owner did all of this within 24 hours of me driving down. Previous owner was a great guy and was happy to answer any questions or help me in any way even after the car was out of his hands. Half way through the trip he even called to see how everything was going.

Lil story from yesterday.....
sooooo, i drove 2.5 hours ONE way to check out a 97 TSi AWD. car looked decent, one dent, Gorgeous interior condition: I pop the hood...ok, looks like a 6 bolt bottom end with the 2g head like he said...mmmmkay.......WHOAH WAIT: is that Oil all over the water pump and serpentine belts??? well, lemme check underneith, see if it's down there too: AHHHHHH!!!! so much for a "needs nothing" car. ok ok, just drive it and see if it runs ok, u r already here........EVERY time you get into it, or the turbo is spooled, u smell ANTI-FREEZE!!! nonononononono. The guy was like "i love the smell of the turbo's when they get hot" when I said I smelled anti-freeze. what a retard. cause turbo's smell Sweet as hell...... PASS

Wow !!! Sorry to hear about your encounter. I was curious to see if you had got the one you were telling me about or not. "Turbo smell" LOL. I love dsmer's who know nothing about their car , Or just try to pawn straight junk off on others.
At first I thought it was Twenty5psi's car, But then I noticed the front bumper. If that were the case, I was going to say congratulations on a mint low milage purchase. That's not the case though! Keep looking, You'll find one when you least expect it. I am looking for 2g gsx's online every single nite, We'll see who gets to them first ! They are getting harder to find it seems now.. Which is just weird. Only difference is I don't mind picking one up needing alot of work (obviously). I have no idea when the 2g awd talon will get here that I purchased, But it should be here within the next few weeks. |

i'm pretty much stopped looking at this point. I am looking to in the future turbo my DD SVT focus. Not going for big power.
I cannot find a good running condition AWD car that isn't either BEAT like a 5.0 mustang, needing a turbo, rear diff, or engine. I can't justify $10,000 for a good one either whne blue book is like $5-6K MAX. I guess they are all gone. I'll just drive what I have man. It's not worth the headache of buying one and it not being reliable. I love 'em, but The good ones are gone....kinda like all the women my age....hahahaha.
