my 360 networking issue.

this is a long shot...

im trying to connect my 360, directly to my pc's ethernet card, to share the wifi connection (too cheap to buy a 360 wireless adapter).
im using a crossover cable, and i have a networking bridge setup.
windows firewall is disabled

when running the networking tests, everything passes, except the XBOXLIVE test. i get an IP, DNS, MTU ,etc...

i tried forwarding ports, and even disabling the firewall on my router. but no matter what i do, it always fails.

now, if i do the same exact thing on my laptop, it connects without any problems.

its almost like as if my pc's mac address is banned my xbl or something.
ive seen a few people report the same problem with their setup, but no one seems to ever know what the cause is.

Are you using the built in connection wizard on the 360 or manually configuring it. When i first set mine up at home last summer i had to mess with the dns settings to get it to work.

i had this test fail on me the other day... it was strange... DMZ host was set up right etc etc etc... it just suddenly stopped working... and then randomly started on its own

i tried both, using the wizard and manual config.
the 360 gets an ip and dns. just that damn live test that fails for no reason at all. yet doing the same exact things on the laptop makes it work perfectly. it makes no sense at all.

yes i did.
they said that an XBL failure probably means there is an issue with your account, however thats not true in my case since i can connect just fine through the laptop.
