looks good so far.

It reminds me a little of Mad Max so I think you need some hoses up front running to one of those external coolers...maybe.

Nice man, we did something similar on my friends car last year. It's good because it teaches you alot about the car, saves you money, and is efficent all at once.

Nice work on the splitter. Again, what's it made out of? Kinda reminds me of the splitters they put on the sprint cup cars, lol.

I made it out of plywood. There are several reasons I chose it. Its cheap, very readily available, easy to work with, and has relatively good strength. Plus, I was able to countersink every bolt so the underside is completely smooth. Now that its all mocked up, I'm going to put a coat of polyester resin on it, sand it smooth and paint it, and you won't even be able to tell its made of plywood.

And to Nick, good call on the Mad Max. I painted the front bumper black before the start of last season and all the rock chips and crap you run into out on track pretty much sandblasted it all off. This weekend I'm going to start the paint and body work. I have a member journal, but it seems like if you don't have rubber band tires and a system people don't look at it. I'll post updates in there.

Looks good.......

I would not be surprised if it blows out the adjustment points though. I had a homemade aluminum splitter on the front of my Impreza with two points and the rear was bolted to the subframe. The aluminum splitter was made of 5/32" 6063 grade aluminum very strong stuff.... The front points pulled through the aluminum plates at 65mph on TP after 20min. I was amazed at the amount of down force created only a few degrees of downward angle. I actually hung from the front edge of the splitter while it was up on a lift to check its strength.....I was like 195 then

I was able to stand on the splitter even before I put the 4 adjustment rods on the front. Plus, you said you had a few degrees of angle on it. That seems like way too much. Splitter are supposed to be practically level. Mine has slightly less than 1degree of rake in it. I can stand with my feet together at any point along the splitter and bounce up and down on it and the whole car bounces up and down. Im not that worried about it, but if it does, I'll make sure you are the first to know haha. That would suck.

mmm ya if you have no degree of attack you probably will be fine, particularly if you are able to stand on it. Good Luck......and yes it does suck when it brakes and is bouncing off the pavement at 65mph.

Part of the reason I made it out of plywood haha. I'll get to test it out in about a month. Front straight at NJMP Lightning circuit I see right about 130. I did an auto-x with it but I might have only seen 50mph for a second. Hardly a test for it but better than nothing.

That looks real good. Cant even tell its plywood in the pics. Just curious, how thick is the plywood?

its 15/32nds so just shy of a half inch. Splitter performed amazing this weekend. stayed tight and didn't get ripped off during my 2 off track excursions during the weekend. The severe nose dive of my car, thanks to still relatively stock suspension and very hard braking would actually put the very front of the splitter on the ground going into turn one but it was ever so slight. I'll post some pictures and videos of the races in a few days when I get them trimmed down and uploaded.
