Time Attack @ Raceway Park Nov 7th for $90

i've never done a "Real Time Attack" event or raced on raceway park's road course, only a redline time attack @ njmp but they look similar in rules / classes / safety. if you pre-reg it's $90 and spectators are free. trying to get some people together for an end of the season blowout.

I'm definately thinking about entering. Can't beat $90, and I'd definately be in the stock class.

The layout of the track at Englishtown sort of makes me scared for my safety. Any idea of how many cars will be on track at one time?

what are the requirements other than "bring a helmet" and 140 tw tires? As far as I know Englishtown has a required mechanical inspection sheet that has to get filled out buy a shop before you can run.

i don't know if i should sign up. i didnt like the track last time i was there (for safety reasons as well) but for $90 it might be well worth it. who else is going to register?

Theres already quite a few people registered. I did the Redline Time Attack on this course last year and it was pretty fun (for a tight, rough, small course). But recently, its been repaved and smoothened out.
It's still fun, and its a road course. It's still going to be a fun time. They divide the classes and make sure its safe for certain amount of cars to be on at the same time, so no problems on it being overcrowded. I dont see why so many complaints when its $90 bucks. They're going to post up rules and regulations soon, along with schedule and requirements. So those that haven't signed up yet, and still unsure, just wait til they update it.

safety
Quote:
It's open track no passing other than point by's so safety isn't as strict as wheel to wheel racing. A helmet that is sa2005/m2005 or better should be the only thing you need aslong as long as you are using the stock seat and stock seatbelts. A fire extinguisher is highy recommended but not required.
timeline

Here is a tentative schedule for the etown demo event. We're looking at 30 min practice sessions and 5 lap hot lapping in the after noon. We can only have 6 cars on the track at once so we will make efforts to maximize the track time and adjust the schedule according to how many cars come to the event.

this is their demo event so it's the first of their kind. if you guys don't feel confident coming to run or feel this is sketchy, you can at least come check out since spectators are free

This seems like it was thrown together and not at all thought out, by their class rules if I'd even call it thaty dd is in the exotic/hyper car class unless less than 5 show up then it's a street modified. There is no real distinction between am and shop car other than tires, I kinda think it's a little ridiculous that they have no real rules how are they going to tech cars when they have no set rules for safety equipment, I really don't see this working out.

Thinking about this and I agree with Evomike. There are really no set rules yet in terms of safety.

I actually came across them on FB and was talking to the guy on there. He said since its the demo event, and they are just getting started, they don't have the final rules set yet. so give them some slack. you can't complain about the price to get some seat time.
