Not another engine build - w/pics
The car is a 1989 Plymouth Horizon with a 90 2.5 Block & crank , heavier duty T2 rods , ends drilled for pin oiling . full floaters. gotta get the ends re-sized to accept the .912 wrist pins on the new slugs. The heads a stock 2000 Neon 2.0 Dohc head , plugged & drilled for oil supply & returns. stock MLS head gasket . the turbo's a holset hx-30 which i hear is like a t4 turbo , I don't really know yet because it just destroys engines at this point . |

Man now that's a flash back never did a dohc swap but just about everything else at one point. Good luck and have fun hope the parts are easy enough to find still.

before I burned that piston up it ran great as a NA motor, 132tq / 110Hp on the dyno. sad to see that a TBI piston Can NOT hold any more than 2-3lbs of boost before things get sketchy , my afr was @ 13.3 during the meltdown. if they were forged I'd have had no issues , but ma mopar and the hyper-u-broke-it technology got me burned

Got the block bored honed / galley plugs etc. rods resized, crank balanced(8 grams out's)/polished/checked. std/std on the rods and mains !!
so far the rotating assembly is together. I went with a set of ARP main studs at the request of the engine guy. he said one of my bolts was stretching. so in with the studs. problem solved had the head cut fly cut to restore the surface. decked the block also , gonna go with I believe an .060 Headgasket to achieve 8-1CR I'll get some pic's up soon. and then we get to clay up pistons ! Yay. Last edited by 16vconversion; 04-05-2011 at 08:23 AM. Reason: adding pics |

It's been a LONG while , motors all put together and in it's old home , 50 shot of n2o off the line and tuned for 22 psi at "Twisted Tuning" best time ao far is a 12.53@111.9 , turbo gasket was blown out !!!
Put it to bed for the winter . We will see what kinda abuse it will stand next season ! |
