American at Olympics stabbed to deathStory Highlights
NEW: Victims related to a U.S. men's volleyball coach, USOC says

Chinese man stabbed two Americans attending Olympics at Beijing tourist attraction

Man dies; woman and Chinese tour guide wounded in attack

Attacker was Chinese man who then killed himself, media reports say

BEIJING, China (CNN) -- A Chinese attacker stabbed two Americans, killing the man and wounding the woman, who were attending the Olympic Games on Saturday, according to the U.S. Olympic Committee.

The attacks took place at Beijing's historic Drum Tower.

The man also injured a female Chinese tour guide before leaping to his death around noon from the second floor of the Drum Tower, a popular Beijing tourist site, the official Chinese news agency Xinhua reported.

The USOC said the two Americans were family members of a coach for the U.S. men's indoor volleyball team. No other information about them was released.

The attacker was a 47-year-old man from the eastern Chinese city Hangzhou, a spokesman for the Beijing Municipal Government Information Office told Xinhua.

A White House spokesman said President Bush, who is attending Olympic events Saturday, was told about the attack against the Americans.

The U.S. Embassy and the White House have offered the victims' families whatever assistance is needed, the spokesman said.

Nice foul backstreet boy! You gave the tie to the Netherlands in mens soccer! I'd cut your ass as soon as the game was over.

Opening ceremonies was SICK. with all the LEDs and optical illusion special effects stuff. DEF better than the loser eagles....

well, my buddy Brendan Hansen got shut out of the medals this year.... ah well, sucks for him. we played little league together and he's from my hometown.

the freestyle relay race the american men came back to win was CRAZY!!! Jason lezak ripped up the final leg. it was truly amazing to watch, and i'm not even that big on swimming.

I'm waiting for Allyon Felix to run... that chick is smoking... Lots of the USA girls gymnasts are cute too...unfortunately also jailbait! :D Also, Misty may is superhot, and George W is a moron- worst possible representative for our great country.

I love teh Olympics, NBC just puts a lot of coverage out there, so theres always stuff on.
