RockNRace's Shop Truck 2.0 - 04 GMC Canyonero

I did a thing.

2004 GMC canyon with 200k on the clock and a blownup 2.8 4cyl. Its in pretty good shape with minimal body damage and pretty much zero rust.

Currently accumulating parts and will bang this thing out in a week. Plan is 4.8 / 5.3, 4l80e, ford 8.8, holley efi, and of course a FSP turbo kit.

Truck is currently sitting at a friends, should be ready to tear into it come spring.

I'd really like to see 900+ at the wheels. Not sure if I want to go big single or medium twins for the extra internet points.

First stage I'll be testing my new cast header. But in the future I would really like to break some hearts.

Wow 900 is a real number haha. How hard is it to put a LSx in a canyon?

They came factory V8 for a couple years (not in this gen unfortunately) but from my research it seems like they basically bolt right in. Engine swap mounts can be had for $150

This should be fun.

Drive train has arrived: Subaru Forester 1500WT ftw....

Gen3.5 5.3 and 2wd 80e. I so badly wanted to do a manual on this swap, but it just isnt in the budget at this time

I have a ton of other parts piled up waiting for warmer/drier weather

Went to get the truck home so I have something to do should my employer shut down for the virus.

Luckily I have a pile of parts ready to go. Hopefully will get time to work on it soon.

I get there and the litterally dude tells me that he blew his knee out the day before and needs surgery. He then proceeded to throw the trans in the car by himself and then linebacker shoved the engine back 8 inches when we struggled to get the hatch to close. Dude was an animal!

Hell yeah man, good update. Can't wait for more! I'm excited to see more of the twin setup, just for a little change of pace from all of the sloppy singles.

Got stock motor and trans out. Took a minute to set in my foam engine block in. Looks pretty straight forward. The foam engine block was so nice that I just went ahead and ordered the foam transmission too. Should make fabricating mounts a breeze!
