R32 GT-R Electrical

Anyone good with Nissan electrical systems? I have a pretty annoying little issue.

The windows and gauge cluster stopped working. Happened at same time. Seems that they are not getting a signal. The back lights are working. Fuses all check out. Speedo works as it is mechanical. The windows do nothing and make no noise indicating no power. I have called a local shop but they are pretty busy at the moment and not really at the phones. I just don't have any time to really diagnose the issue nor do I have the electrical prowess. Car runs decent otherwise. Model is 1990 R32 Skyline GTR. I have electrical diagrams if needed.

P.S. I have done some searching and it appears this same issue has happened to others as well.

If you think you might be able to remedy this I would be glad to compensate.

I am a wiring guru, and my skyline was all wiring issues when I go it. I also have the prints but I must ask... When and how did they stop working, did you do anything, were you working on the car at the time?

I know on my z31 there is a power supply that goes bad under the steering wheel. Its a little rectangle box. It causes the digital dash to not work. What car are u dealing with?

If it's not fuses, and back lighting is still working, my next guess would be a/some relay's may have gone bad.

Dude, you have to get a multimeter and download the wire diagrams. It will make trouble shooting so much more easier and take things one step at a time. Trust me, I know. I installed a solid state electrical system in my car and it was a bitch and a half to do. But you have to take one step at a time...

The gas/needle was on empty. Stopped at the local station. Filled up. Turned key and started it up. Noticed the RPM gauge wasnt working then saw the gas gauge at 3/4th. Whatever happened, it happened when I started the car.

Looking at the FSM now and I see the power layout and it's all fed from a common fuse, but there are some points to check. Do you have a meter or a scope, to test tach signal? Or if you want come over and park skyline to skyline

I actually have an external tach which is getting signal. So it should rule some things out. I am also bringing it somewhere tomorrow to have it all looked at. I'll certainly let you know what it was.

Curious, seen this post went dead a few weeks ago, but have you worked out your electrical issue yet? If so, what was the cause? I'm just curious
