There were a lot of complaints against Rumsfeld that the troops didn't have enough Humvees and body armor to do their job at the begging of the war. There were news reports about how family's of soldiers had to buy body armor on ebay and ship it to Iraq to their sons and daughters. Rumsfeld even started to get harassed about it by the troops during his town halls in Iraq.

Partially true. I know guys were having people send them Dragonskin armor because they didn't like the IBA we had at the time, even though they worked. Support units usually did end up with flack jackets from Nam though, which was okay for stopping fragmentation but not rounds.

The vehicles, yeah, there was a shortage of armored Humvees. Our unit just lined the bottoms with sand bags. Generally speaking though, during the initial push, most troops were going in with mechanized infantry, so they rode in Bradleys and APCs. It was the support units who were screwed with soft skin Humvees and other trucks, a la Jessica Lynch's unit.

Sadly this is how we advance our equipment, through mistakes and real world applications. Now we have too much gear IMO.

Honestly I wouldn't mind them using the funds for one F-22 to revamp the weapons we carry. The M16 has to go. Support troops should carry 9mm sidearms for self defense only, assault troops are the ones who need rifles or carbines.

This is a topic about Beck and his Becker head march. I mentioned Beck because it’s a topic about beck. Beck’s the one loosing advertisers cause he's so full of sh**, and Beck’s the one spreading things like our President is creating a Hitler youth, Socialism, terrorist, and dissing families of victims of 9/11. Same goes for you man. Like I said in the other thread I seriously think we all want the same thing for our country and it just comes down to how we get there and who’s in charge of getting us there. So I wonder if cnn or msNBC is going to cover this? I'm predicting that they will call this protest a big "Angry MOB". I really don't unstand why they would bash these demonstrations for people standing up against the go'vt for their constitutional rights. Hell I know why, its because most of the media is liberal. I say these people are patriotic for doing things like this. Just as long as its a peaceful demonstration like the tea parties were on April 15th.

Doesn't matter. Advertisers will come crawling back in time, it's smart business, the guy gets ratings. Who care how right? I mean hell, the left wingers like to tout the death tolls in the wars to push their agenda, so all is fair in love and war.

Fox gets more ratings than all of those stations combined, so it all balances out if the other networks are biased. It might also not get much coverage because its linked to glen beck, and no one wants to touch the guy with a 10ft pole after he called the president a racist.
