Question about battery

My R has been sitting for about 2 weeks in the garage. I went to pull it up to change the oil in the jeep and she wouldn't start. The battery was replaced 8/08 so it's not too old. Would my alarm being set draw enough power to drain it?

I don't belive cold weather is enough to drain a battery in 2 weeks unless there is already a problem.

that's what I thought too. I hooked up a new shark II amplified antenna and was worried that maybe I connected the wrong wire? Could there be a constant pull on the battery even though the stereo is off?

I'd say its normal. The Z fires up everytime, but if the Tiburon or 240 sit for a few days they usually need a jump. Its only during winter, same cars/batteries in warmer weather have no problem. I guess its just because they're older, but they def don't need new batteries or anything. If you don't drive your car a lot and have a garage, just stick it on a trickle charger and it will start everytime.

15-16v's??!??!?! Thats way too high. You should see very low 15's at the very most.

Our batteries that we sell usually read between 15-16v's when we hook up our multimeter after a fresh install.

yea batteries shouldnt go over 15v and if ur worried about it drawing to much while the cars off just hook up a multimeter in series to the battery cable and find out what your paracidic loss is

Buy a battery charger for the winter time and set it at the 2 amp trickle charge.
