Yea, we were talking about that. What are you looking to get for it? I just did headers on my Z31 so I’m still enjoying how stupidly awesome the car sounds with them but I’ll need boost soon.

Techno violet is such a great color! Especially on an m3/4/5 (assuming it’s manual). Great pickup.

You need to find a good E30 that hasn’t been whooped and just cruise it stock for a while and slowly fix things up. That’s the way to do it! And the m20s/g260s really take boost well so you wouldn’t even have to swap it to make big power. So many cars for sale and so few in the affordable but decent category so it’s too easy to accidentally get yourself into a basket case.

I wanted an e46 before this one popped up but couldnt pass up the colour combo and the condition of this particular e36.

Those swaps are cool, and definitely more "correct," but man its damn hard to justify anything over crusty van motor these days. Its just too cheap and easy

No man I get it trust me, especially if you want power. I am a purist when it comes to Z31s, and the VG30 might be my favorite nissan engine next to the L28. I'd love to throw a RB in my Z31 if I could get a 200ZR crossmember , otherwise the stock VG30E won't ever come out (unless it blows up then I'd go VG33E).

But then again I am not building my Z31 for power, more for just fun Spring/Summer,Early Fall driving. That's why I don't have any definite plans to boost it. I mean I will if I can piece together a NA2T kit for cheap.

I used to feel that way lol. But after boosting my old Spec-V, and having a boosted VG33 Z31, and now daily driving my Juke, I just don't need boost like I used to.

Plus it would be a stock boost setup and those aren't super reliable on the Z31s. I love how simple a NA VG30 is, and with headers and an exhaust it sounds stupid good. Honestly, I could do cams and few other mods and make some decent power NA. I just did a massive suspension overhaul, so maybe a little more power is needed...

As you can see with my roadster. I am no purist however i gave the shiro a chance with the vg but it failed me after spending all the time and effort getting her running. Now i will have it set up for the lsx in case i want to go with a different variation.

Next up (if i dont end up selling it) is my e36 m3.....a 2jz would be a nice match there. ;)

I know you gave the VG a chance, I just always wonder what went wrong when I hear stories about VGs failing. My buddy had an old Maxima with a VG30 that blew up. Turns out he forgot engines need oil.

I spent a lot of money getting my VG in good working order so I would be pissed if it failed me now... though I'd probably rebuild it.

You need to shoot me some pics of the stock turbo setup and what you want for it price wise. I could just store it until I am ready to do the swap.
