GoPro Wide

Just picked this up about a month ago, finally took the time to upload a video I made with it for anyone considering buying it. Very good camera for the money, shop around on ebay and you'll get it 137.99 (that's what I paid). Requires two triple A batteries...records for about 3-4 hours and uses a 2gb card which can take 2000 pics or an hour of video. Definitely recommend it, awesome car camera for the price. Anyways, here is the video, if you have any questions feel free to ask!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3kGgeYFi_7o

edit: Also, forgot to mention....it has a protective case that is waterproof and is marketed as one of the smallest video camera in the world.

Honestly not that bad, it has 2 different settings, a High noise and Low noise, so depending on how much wind will be hitting it, you can switch the setting. I'll try to get a video with sound when I can and post it up on here.

The only problem is while in the protective case, it's so secure that it does not allow much noise in, so you almost have to modify the case to let a bit more sound in while recording.

Great example of the effect the case has on the sound....

Justinlansdale has one of these cams. I dunno if it's the wide version, but I still looked at it and it's the coolest thing ever. I def want one.

Can you get me measurements of the suction cup? I have a potential spot to stick this for cool footage but if the cup is too big it won't hold

Just checked, it has a diameter of 3". You'll need a height of at least 2.5" to fit the suction cup in whatever crevice you are trying to put it in.

Something to note though, it does not rotate, you rotate it by rotating the suction cup when mounting it. It does however "pitch" left, right, up, and down. Not sure a better way to put that, I'll post better pictures / video of the construction of the mount tomorrow or later this week.

No remotes, which can make the operation a little tricky. Wind noise seems to be worse on cars with roofs, but there are two settings for mic control (high and low). I keep mine on low and don't have any issues.

The suction cup works pretty good as long as it and the spot you are sticking it are clean.

Batteries will last about an hour of use (I got 1:15 continuous at the LeMons race).

AutoX Video. Mounted using the supplied roll bar mount. You can see in the the video, there is a mount that allows you to put it on helmet too.

Oh, one other negative about the GoPro: If you have the camera inside a fixed roof car and it is sunny out, the camera way over exposes the outside as it is trying to expose for the darker interior of the car (particularly a problem with black/dark grey interiors, but I have difficulties when I have the lid on my Miata). The only real solution is to mount the camera on the dash or as close to the window as possible.

I've tested that suction cup mount to 150 and it holds
