canon rebel xs issues

i have a rebel xs that i bought used and it started acting up, it currently will not turn on unless i first remove and then re install the battery, then it will work perfect untill i turn it off, then i need to remove the battery again or it wont turn on.

has anyone had this issue? does anyone know someone who could repair it? canon no longer supports servicing the XS

I would think there are camera repair shops around. How much it'll cost you... who knows

How do the battery connections look inside the camera?
