So how many people...
The "how do you shift" thread came to mind when I was parking my car the other day and I thought to myself...I wonder. I vaguely remember when I was first pursuing a 5-speed that people said when you park, you should only leave it in first or reverse, depending on what direction the car was facing on a slant, etc. etc. and to never park with the ebrake up. My guess is in case it seizes. Well, I know if I'm parked on even a slight incline I just throw it in first or reverse, and I only use the e-brake if its a major hill or its pretty much level ground. How about you?

E-brake always (unless its really cold out)
Uphill leave it in first, downhill in reverse. Always turn the wheel too so if either mechanism fails or the car will roll and hit the curb instead of rolling into traffic/the car behind/in front of it.

if flat, usually neutral and e-brake up. Incline is either first-ebrake or reverse-ebrake, depending on what direction the car is facing.

1st gear when the hill would make the car go backwards so that the gears hold it reverse when the hill would make the car go forward so the gears hold it.

I don't put it in gear or use the e-brake, I just rest my car up against another car's bumper and hope he's left in gear and used his e-brake.
Kidding. 1st uphill, reverse downhill and e-brake all the time.

e-brake ALWAYS along with any gear i feel like throwing it into. Never put it in reverse or first actually. Usually 3rd or 4th. Never rolled away on me.

neutral and e-brake on flat. if the car could go forward then its e-brake and reverse. if the car could go backwards then e-brake and first.
