call me crazy but it sounds like your are doubting something he does on a daily bases, rather than something one might read about online when repairs are needed.

not really... just google aluminum wheel repair and read the methods. I called over half a dozen shops and pretended ignorant to the topic just so I could hear what steps they would take to repair it. After talking to the guy at wheel works i felt that he had the repair method down. I asked the guy in the shop just to make sure it was the same person that I talked to on the phone.

Put yourself in his shows, how would you feel about this? have some random brown call on the phone ask questions, then show up in person and still ask questions that are relatively the same **** you asked on the phone. you gonna tell me that you wouldn't get pissy?

He shouldn't have an issue proving his knowledge. If this were a simple job like mowing my lawn I wouldn't question his tactics, but when my life is riding on it, I'd like to be sure he knows what he is doing...

*shrugs* trained professional vs owner or broken rim. Willing to bet he knows what he's doing.

You're missing the point dude... I was not brain benching the guy... I WAS ENSURING HE KNEW HOW TO DO A PROPER JOB BEFORE LEAVING MY WHEEL WITH HIM.

What part of that do you find competitive? I don't just give people work without researching the procedures myself and then making sure the know what they're doing.

ever thing to research the company themselves as opposed to just how to do the work?

What company? The guy that I took it to owns a MOM and POP shop. Its not a company and I'll be lucky if its an LLC.

What the **** are you laughing at dude? Do you think you're smart or something? Get this through your head. I sent my photos to over 6 shops that were big and small... Most of them saw the crack and said it couldn't be repaired because it would just come back. Those shops obviously knew very little about wheel repair. The ones that remained all knew the techniques that I researched online PRIOR TO PICKING A SHOP. For example, The good shops knew never to weld a crack, but to cut it out. They also knew to DRILL THE ENDS OF THE CRACK SO IT DOESNT SPREAD?

Why the **** are you questioning why I researched the repairs before I chose a place to do it? Do you not ****ing understand?

He didn't get pissed? Where did I say he got pissed? He was a dick with sarcastic remarks to my questions.

It wasnt even bad enough to make me want to take my business elsewhere... The guy was not a people person.

I really dont know what else to say... I'm just beating a dead horse here...

I wouldn't trust you with a potato gun. He can be aggravated all he wants. I'm not paying anyone for a service until I'm sure they know what they're doing. I dont trust anyone but myself most of the time and this was on repair that I cant do...

Well I picked up the wheel and that day my slave cylinder failed and I could barely get the car in and out of gear... Picked up the last one in the tri state area at Thomson BMW in Doylestown and I was back on the road today... Its been an expensive week...

Anyhow the wheel is repaired and I'd say repaired well... It high speed balanced perfectly fine and the welds look clean as hell.

Lets hope it stays in good shape... I picked up a craftsman digital tire pressure gauge and I will be keeping a good eye on my pressure from now on.

As entertaining as this thread was to read op you are running the absolute wrong psi. This is a newb mistake. You do not go by the psi that is written on the tire. That pressure is max inflation. You should be somewhere in the 30's not pushing the tire to it's limit. Please inflate your tires to the proper psi.

This. It's written/stamped on the inside of most cars drivers doors or the door jamb.
