International Rally NY Sept 22-23, 2006

http://www.rallynewyork.com

International Rally New York 2006 will take place on September 22 - 23, 2006. International Rally New York is an all-gravel event with a five-year history. It takes place only 90 miles northwest of New York City. The event has the distinction of being the first rally ever in the history of US rallying that was run in such close proximity to New York City and the large spectator base in the New York City area.

Come in the fall to enjoy automobile rally racing competition among the drivers from all over the United States and from abroad. Come to see the beauty of Sullivan County, New York and the colorful foliage of Catskill Mountains.

There will be two days of competition with 100 miles of special stages - speed tests, all on gravel roads of Sullivan County. The Rally will start before noon on Friday with Ceremonial Start on Erie Street in Narrowsburg. The majority of the special stages will be in Narrowsburg with the Central Service Park at Lander's Campground also in Narrowsburg. The total length of the course will be 300 miles. The rally will end on Saturday in early evening with two runs of the spectacular Mighty M Gaming Super Special Stage at Monticello Raceway that will be followed by Ceremonial Finish with fireworks.

Two-thirds of the special stages will take place on private property - Ten Mile River Scout Reservation - with limited and controlled access. Rally New York, Ltd. keeps rebuilding these roads throughout the summer for the Rally. The rest of the special stages will be on gravel roads in Narrowsburg with only three residences on the roads in that part of the rally.

The International Rally New York is part of the United States Rally Championship (USRC). It is internationally listed by Federation Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), the world motorsports governing body. The two-day International and National event is sanctioned by the United States Auto Club (USAC).

Each day of the two-day Rally is a separate event of the New York Rally Championship (NYRC). The two New York Rally Championship events are sanctioned by Rally New York, Ltd.
