Looks great, man! I laughed when I saw the inspection on a full-caged car, though.

If I remember correctly, a full cage DQs a car from inspection because without the proper safety devices run in conjunction at all times, the cage becomes more of a hazzard in the event of a collision and because there is nothing even remotely DOT legal about it.

Don't use the noodles, they wont help you if you roll.

Get ACTUAL roll bar/cage padding:

http://www.google.com/search?source=...05a7bb65e82229

Also get tape to wrap it.

There is no clear cut DOT law regarding a cage on the street.

The issue is the following:

Jeep Wrangler's have full Cages in them when the cars have soft tops. The only thing they have are pads on them.

YES Jeep wrangler's ARE crash tested with the cages so they pass and qualify strict NHTSA guidelines, but if your cage is a legit welded in cage, it should withstand the same impact.

SO a cage on the street can be argued to be legal or illegal.

Same thing with a RHD vehicle. People assume it's illegal because in most cases they have no clue and are ignorant to the laws.
Failing to realise that your mailman drives a rhd truck on a daily basis.
Laws cannot be applied to certain individuals and cannot be broken by anyone. The law is the law is the law and is to be followed by EVERYONE, otherwise it's no longer a law.

Unless Martial Law come's into play.

At the end of the day, you drive a modded s13 with a cage, and every cop out there is going to be playing duck hunt with you and your car. Good luck.

thanks for that quick link. i was merely joking about the noodles. and as for the cage thing thats kinda how ive seen it. wranglers have some form of a cage, i dont expect to get hassled.. and i havent. ive driven it around from august up until 2 weeks ago, with a full 3' straight pipe.. and the only 2 times i got pulled over i caught hell for a headlight out and them asking if the harnesses are legal. to which i replied like a smart ass and said their safer than normal seat belts. lol or have someone in the car with me with a warrant for their arrest from seven years ago *cough nolicense526 cough*. the one time i have had to sit on the side of the road for over a half hour around like 11pm while the cop called the sarg to check if this was all legal. i think the real thing is if you drive it like a doucher than expect to get harassed. i dont speed in it or mess around too much, it put down 200hp and 198ft lbs.. it was fast the first time i drove it. after that it felt like a prius.

I have a bolt in safety 21 cage in my r34. I didn't put it in there, but it came with it when I got it. I roll around with it all the time.

At the end of the day, in the industry we are in no one should argue anything about legalities.

At the end of the day EVERYONE building, swapping, tuning, slamming there cars is doing something illegal.

Any modification or alteration to a FACTORY spec'd vehicle is in fact ILLEGAL.

Ask fellow tuners in CA. They will tell you first hand. :-)

Car looks good btw. keep it up.
