OBDII Code Reading

So where can i go to get the a free code reading? My GF's Camry is having issues and i want to see if it is storing codes. I'm in the levittown langhorne area.

They dont rent but Advance will do it for free. there is the new one that opened up in pendell. I also have a code reader and I'm in holland.

i called pep boys, they charge $90. I called advance and asked if they rent them, they said no. But if i go there they will do it?

edit: can i use my accessport to read a code on a toyota?

Keith goes there all the time to have codes read/cleared and its free. (well he did before he got the tool)

But like he said, he has one if you would like to use it.

I would go to autozone. Have borrowed the scanner a few times from there. In collateral, they hold your license and hand you the scanner to use at the parking lot

not sure what the "accessport" is but go to auto zone, they will do it for free and you can ask them for a print out of whatever the code is. all they use is just a generic scan tool. but if it is a manufactor specific code it will tell you then off to toyota you go ya know

how much does those scanenrs run, i know the have these thing called scangauges that read, clear codes that run around 250 bucks how much is just the scanner? Now that im boosted this will come in handy haha

I've got an $80 scanner that works great. The one I have clears codes and shows emissions ready state also. Definitely worth getting.

the one i bought is an actron brand. it was like 120 bucks, it reads erases codes, views freeze frame date and I/M monitors
it was a good buy as i having problems with my cat at the time. help me get rid of a alot of head aches. i got it at sears hardware in the tool section. they have the exact same one a pep boys for alot more.
