Well a few weeks ago I broke my car. I finally get around to fixing it today and in the process I break my iPhone 3GS lol.

I had the phone up on my windshield and it must have slide down while I was working on the car. I went to open the hood and it didn't seem to want to open as easy. Well my phone actually slide down and got jammed right in the corner point of my hood and crack.

The entire screen is cracked up and at first the entire display was white. I was able to get top half to work a little but it most likely looks like I am going to need a complete new front unit.

Sadly enough I even had the phone in an otter box but even that doesn't provide much protection to the screen.

So I wanted to find out from you guys where I should buy a complete new front unit? i been looking on ebay but just worried It maybe some cheap crap and may not look/function as well as the original?

I do have a warranty on my phone still but people are telling me that it won't cover this damage.

Its kind of a bummer but in the end my car is finally fixed at least.

I'm in a situation where i just cracked the lcd on my 3g and am going to order a whole new screen/lcd combo off ebay to give a try. I broke the lcd trying to clean some dust out from under the screen so it's my own fault. But instead of going through the process of trying to separate the lcd and the screen again and risk breaking another one i'm just going to spend the 50 bux and replace it all in 1 shot. Then it only consists of 3 plugs to snap into place and 2 screws.

if you check craigslist there are people that offer the service for $75-$100. check their too

Anychance can you link me to the seller on ebay you are buying this from?

It looks like I am going to need to replace the entire front which is the glass, digitizer and LCD.

But it only lists iphone 3g not 3gs so you may want to contact the seller about that.

+1 on the LCD/glass combo. just be careful. it's easy to take the phone apart
