10/15/11 - Droptoberfest SCCA autoX

Just noticied this was scheduled on NEPA-SCCA's list of events for 2011. Is anyone from TST planning on coming out to this event? I showed up for the car show last year and ended up watching the autoX the whole time. Very small course but still looked like a lot of fun!

I'll be out there. I'm told that the area where the car show was last year is being used entirely for autocross

i'm not sure if i'll make it or not...

they are running in the upper lot this year as the show is being held at the training grounds where the NEPA LCCC event was held earlier this year.

Is anyone there yet? It's 130pm, Does anyone know what time it's held until (Show ETC)? I am leaving in 20minutes to head up to check everything out, But not to race or show any cars. I'll be in my skyline.

Thank you ! I've never been there before. It's only about 15-20 minutes from me so I figured I would finally stop by and see how it was.

I haven't been either but the drive was pretty decent and forgot about this until around 11am. By that time I said the hell with it. Some friends are up there. They said nothing really spectacular. Have fun and take some pics for us lol

The nicest vehicle i saw at the show was a 1970 Chevy C/10, simple & clean, but HIGHLY modded. I want after the autox(duh).

I had an insane amount of fun at the autox, especially after they changed the start around in the afternoon and even thou the lot was VERY slippery. WOT threw 1st -2nd gear on the "front stretch". The good SM drivers werent there so i ended up taking 2nd in SM for the "official morning event" and for the 3 runs in the "afternoon event" i ended up with 1st in SM.

Dont get this thread confused with the show. The show sucked(like it usually does), but the autox was great and im glad i chose the autox over the show. Why sit, watch your car, and only talk about the "performance mods" that it has when you can drive, enjoy, and SHOW people what it is capable of? It is a no-brainer to me. Plus my car looks like ****.

I also want to mention that the autox was not ran by the Kiddy Rides crew, it was a NEPA SCCA autox and was run by the NEPA SCCA guys.

Haha u guys are great I recognize a few of ya too! I had a blast at the Autox and I agree with you. My car is purpose built and i do not agreed race. Hey if they like to stand around and bull**** all day...good for them, but I'm glad they were in a different lot away from us. I'd much rather drive my car then stand around and talk about what it "should be able to do" , anyways even after the slight rain and cold it turned out to be a great day and a lot of fun! I can't wait till next season !!!!
