IIRC I've seen turbo ones put down 400 and hurt a lot of feelings. The mid engine provides tons of extra grip to the rear and on a sticky tire has 0 problems hooking

Many don't feel the same way about that as seen above.. But that's ok, like I said... I enjoy driving it everytime I get a chance too, unfortunately not for a few months from now will I get to enjoy it again..

Also have the 2zz + 6-speed from a Celica GTS which can be supercharged or turbo charged... The 2zz itsself makes the car like an elise with an extra 200 pounds.. Still not a bad deal. I would have to do this to one though, which may add some extra weight...

If you gut the soft top like I did the weight is pretty much a wash between hard top and soft top.

Any of you 2nd gen owners have manual steer? I find that the front end of my car is floaty at 70+ mph. I have to hold on with both hands because its easy for the road imperfections to influence the steering wheel. Also sometimes, I get some bump steer {which the new struts/shocks helped a lot with}

Is this more common with manual steer? I thought about getting an alignment again, but was putting it off in case i rip some stuff apart to check it out.

This is how the yellow car looks currently. I have a few changes coming up but nothing that is too much of a departure from what you see here though.

Manual steel mk2 ex-owner here; never had an issue with it. I'd seriously recommend an alignment especially after putting in the new struts.

forgot all about this thread :P right now i have my aw11 down for the winter.. doing a wire tuck.. nothing crazy just doing as much as i can with no major harness cutting.. so far i moved the battery, and im going to hide the harness under the intake manifold.. so il have to extend the injector pig tails.. i just finished painting my bay yesterday and i just removed my intake manifold.. going to take it to work to put it in the parts washer and wire wheel it back to a shiney silver

I was kinda holding off, because I was going to check out tie rods and other suspension bits, but I should just spend the money at firestone and get the lifetime alignment.

Currently my reverse lights work when they feel like, and I think its a switch issue. Inspection is 2 months out and I got a ticket the other day for it. Cop was really nice though, and said the car looked great.

Mine went in and out on my 2 randomly; Never bothered looking into it.

Well if you have a jack just put it up in the air one wheel set at a time and shake it down.

Left to right usually = tie rods(inner or outer)
in and out lean usually = wheel bearing
You could also check the ball joints while its up apply pressure under the wheel with leverage(think see-saw)

Or just get the lifetime, they tech will usually check the front end for play and recommend anything that needs to be done before aligning since it wont stay true.

This is a common problem for MR2's because all the weight is in the back, look into the front fender flaps or lowering the car
