I would stay away from any 98 model F-bodies....they are kinda the red headed step child of the ls world b/c of the ECM used that year......makes it a little difficult to tune...they are very limited when it comes to making big power. that along with differant style cylinder heads than the 99-02 models and differant exhaust system used makes them a little undesirable.

and yes there is no differance between the SS and WS.6 models other than styling.....pontiacs interior is way better than the Cheby's...but thats just my opinion.

if you like the style/look of a G8 than that would be another option for you....30mpg+ on the highway with DOD and its a brute with tons of power...6.0l. comfy ride and room for 5. only thing i hate is there was no 6-speed option in the gt model....but its definetly something you could check out.

I had a '93 Z28 for a couple years and I was fine with it (minus the A4). Another red headed step child I must say ;-) I prefer the '00 myself. My ex Liz (I think you and most the F-body guys know her from EPFBA, LS1Tech, ThirdGen, FuelSlut, etc.) had an '00 and I loved it, and our friend Ali had one as well - I think that was an '01? Aren't you over on LS1Tech, EPFBA, etc.? I swear I know you. Anywho, my g/f and I are going to test drive the '00 on Friday so we'll see how things go.

Found a '98 T/A. I wish it were an '00 or newer for the wheels, interior and extra power, but I am still happy.

I had personal experiences with both the Trans Am WS6 and the Camaro SS. Both are powerhouses. I found the Trans Am gave me a smoother ride and better handling. Also had a more practical layout and the interior seemed more premium to me. But the Camaro SS was more fun. And like - wild. Both are great choices to me - depends what you are looking for in a car
