<3 Car insurance.
Lets lay out the facts: My permanent address is in NJ My Temporary address (for works training program) is in DE My car is registered in New Jersey, but I have insurance for delaware. My car has NJ plates, I have an NJ license, and a delaware insurance card I visit NJ once a month to see family, otherwise cars are stored in del what the insurance company told me : I can only have a policy written where the cars are kept more then 50% of the time they will not write a policy for me to keep my car in jersey the dmv should have caught the issue upon registration I am free to drive in all 50 states What the cops told me I am fraudulently driving in del my insurance is invalid I can not have a car registered in jersey and insured in del And on to the story: Today while driving in jersey to meet up with family I was pulled over for not having a valid inspection sticker. I get pulled over and asked for my liscense, registration and insurance card. Upon handing the information to the officer, I get questioned on my insurance card. (Meanwhile I have had the exact same policy for 2 years. Been pulled over and to court for some offenses and presented this exact insurance card without any issue. Furthermore my friend with the EXACT same setup....lived in my exact house in delaware and in my neighborhood in jersey got into an accident and the insurance infor still wasnt questioned.) anyway after a half hour of her sitting in her car anotherc cruiser pulls up. A 2nd officer asks me about my insurance situation. I told him I have had this setup for however many years and that it hasnt been a problem. Long story short they pull me out of my car and have it towed. They say I cant get it back until i have a valid insurance card, and tyhey assuere me that the current one that was presented will not suffice. Once I was able to find my way home I immediately pull out my phone and get into an hour long conversation with progressive insurance. An hour and 3 managers later here is what they conclude: 1. They will not issue me a policy for jersey because my cars are stored in delaware 2. They They will only issue me a delaware policy and it was my fault that the cars are registered in NJ Long story short with that is I have a conference call with progressive insurance and the NJDMV tomorrow about how if I was able to register my cars with the information, am I not able to drive the cars. On top of the fact the cop wrote me up 3 tickets including failure to inspect, operatiing an uninsured vehicle, and not able to present a valid insurance card. So now, my dad had to give me a ride back down to delawar where I have to commute my tuner car to and from work until I get everything resolved with the insurance companies. THEN i have to pay the impound to get my car out, go to court to prove that i do have insurance, and then pay the rest of the tickets. Let it also be noted that I was driving under the speed limit when pulled over and for no other infraction then the sticker on my car was the wrong color. Cliffs: My insurance company issued me a policy not valid in Jersey The DMV in jersey never told me i couldnt drive there and then even registered my cars with my del insurance cop pulls me over and has my car impounded I sit in my room pissed with a giant "uncle same ****" so far up my ass i think it poked me in the eyeball

While I feel for you and your situation, I get the notion you have a beef with the PD.
Your car can be legally parked in the street and be towed if you don't have valid inspection stickers, so driving under the speed limit doesn't get you any special treatment. Your problem is an insurance issue. I would pass any tickets onto your insurance company. Good luck.

The insurance company refuses to write me an NJ policy because the cars are more then 50% of the time stored in delaware.
as for not registering in del i dont want to change my address if its only going to be temporary.

So your car got impounded from Washington twp too? I remember when they impounded my car and told me to walk home. lol
They charge mad loot for the tow, storage, and to fees to get your car back. Sucks Eric, hopefully everything works out. I'm down to still go on Tuesday, just call me.
