what? a cat back attaches at the catalytic converter and goes all the way to the muffler. an axle back attaches after the catalytic converter at the axle to the muffler. advantage of catback is longer wide piping for more flow.

cat back is exhaust with piping and muffler from the catalytic converter back to the tip. i dont know what u mean by regular exhaust. if you mean jus the muffler section then that is just from the rear axle back. cat-backs make more power, because it is larger piping for a longer distance. and smoother bends.

regular exhaust goes from the petshop back, and a catback goes from the liter box back.

The hilarious thing is, I'm so tired that I'm not sure if I'm supposed to laugh or be offended. So I'll settle for smiling stupidly.

LOL... Yea dude, cat-back literally means from the CATalytic converter-> back. Axle back works the same way. Turbo back, again.

lol at first but i respect someone who actually wants to learn what this stuff is
first axle back -section includes piping show which usually starts where rear axles are or should be -(mostly changed for looks and noise) cat back -section includes piping from your cat and back (usually includes resonator and axle back exhaust w/ muffler) -actual performance gains (although not significant) sound is changed much more beware though some companies list their exhaust as "cat back" but ship their exhaust to replace the cat. i had this problem with apexi on my first car.

Exhaust = usually refers to entire exhaust system
Cat-back = [exhaust system] from the catalytic converter, back to tip of tailpipe axle-back = [" " " ] from the "rear axle", aka. rear-most section of the exhaust, back to tailpipe header-back = " " from the header back to the tailpipe turbo-back = " " " from the turbo [downpipe] back to the tailpipe Best thing to do is run open headers though. |
