Motorcycle Insurance

I did not know full coverage for a bike was going to be so high. almost as much as a car. For those that have bikes did you guys get the uninsured and underinsured coverage. getting hit by someone with no insurance. I know in philly a lot of people dont have insurance i know my friend and my dad both got into accidents with dudes with no insurance and it was the biggest hassle. I looked around and progressive is the cheapest. Around $700 for full coverage. Geico quoted me some ridiculously amount it was like $1800 for the year. Rider insurance was $800.

full coverage on a bike is just asking to get raped. I think full coverage on a the new busa for me was quoted as $4500/yr and basic coverage was 400/month with progressive. What kind of bike did you get? If your still looking for getting one a lot of the companies have "cards" basically its a credit card so that when you buy the bike you dont have to put full coverage on it like you would if there was a bike loan on it.

In 2005 Geico quoted me @ $7000 and change for full coverage on an '05 Yam FZ6, and I almost shart myself! Rider got me for $750 same coverage for a year. Since then I've sold my FZ6 for an '08 Triumph Speed Triple and just for the hell of it got another quote from Gieco and they still wanted $1900 even though I have auto w/them and Rider still only wants $750 for the same level coverage. Motto of the story is don't waste your time with Geico; great for cars, but out of touch with bikes.

Under and uninsured covers medical bills for yourself. If you have health insurance, it's pointless.
