clothing company

I was curious if anyone had any information or input on attempting to start up your own clothing company...basically tshirts influenced through design and for the skate/snow crowd...I know a decent amount about business and know that more than likely most of these companies fail within a year or so...but im just curious as to if anyone here has any first hand experience or anything to say about it...thanks in advance guys

I've been lookin to do the same thing. Any input here would be greatly appreciated. I did found a place that does a very good clothing and has decent prices. Let me know if your interested or your already have something lined up for that.

I'm not a business major or anything like, I have no idea. But I'd have friends promote your tees, and clothing..whatever your making.
I don't know exactly what kind of clothing..but I know if girl's clothing is included..girls will normally always ask 'oh cute shirt/skirt/top/whatever, where'd you get it'.
word a mouth is always best for a new business and prices :D

thanks for the help guys...i have a name. i have ideas and some designs down on paper...gotta actually get them on the comp and photoshop would be good for that but i dont have it...hopefully i can get that soon and get some stuff rolling and hopefully you guys will be interested in the designs and maybe pick a few up.

i had a hand in a few small clothing companies... its really tough to get started... and you are going to need cash to "throw away" on free shirts and stuff, all kinds of expenses that alot of people dont expect...youre going to need to go above and beyond to get people to wear ur stuff that arent ur friends.

i know its gonna be money gone with wasted tee's and all..thats why im not starting with a ton right away...i am gonna start with a small amount with a simple design...kind of get the name on some people and all that...hopefully it works out a little andlike i said, hopefully some of you guys will be interested in some of my stuff

i have some stuff but its mostly design stages right now...in my head and needs to go on the comp but need photoshop or somethign to do that

if you need help my freind matt owns a print shop and does things for companys like jinxed (sp?).
to "radio take over"..and a ton of bands he can help you with your designs and getting ideas that are print freindly ..he has benn doing this for 15 years a little accentric but ...we'll one of my best freinds good guy ..he did stuff for subzero a while ago to help them get out of a jam and got stiffed..
you have to be carefull who you deal with ..

i am thinking about a hat...does he do hats?? i have a good deal for my test run shirts and ill see how the simple design goes before i start looking more into other prints...im pretty sure my stuff will be print friendly...i have been doing art for years now and i have a decent grasp of how most of this works...just havent done that really

Where i work (Synergy Print Design) we do all sorts of silk screen printing. I am a designer there along with one other guy. If you want to get some estimates on printing, tagging, or anything else let us know. We also an create your art for you, lets say you "have an idea" but your not as skilled to get onto a computer and make it, we can do it for you at an hourly rate thats not as ass raping as other places. Just to let you know what kind of companies we print for heres a few names: Little devil, Orchid (all of trans am distribution), Sourpuss clothing, Action sportsware, Dirte Jerze.... and thats just a few

i have no problem with doing the art myself and all that...its really jsut getting a base idea of what some stuff would cost and all that...could you pm me like a price chart if you guys have them...quantities with single and double color printing...one and both sides if possible..if not i can ask specific to just find out round about what you think. thanks

yeah man no problem sometime tomorrow when im at work ill get one to you. Also just an Fyi our minimal order is 36 peices, we can print up to 6 colors on a press, double or sigle sided doesnt matter. We can do anything.
