Great progress and a nice looking car, too.

A few notes:
-It's not safe to drive with the stock 3pt belts and the fixed back seats the way you have them set-up. The 3pt harness is meant to be in contact with certain points of your body and with the way they are now, if you're in any sort of accident you're risking both submarining and bodily injury from the amount of room between your body and the harness straps. I'd put the stock seats back in.

-Please skip the "harness bar" idea. They're terribly unsafe and really only meant as a "show car" type item, though every idiot on the internet thinks that they're somehow safe. There's quite a few documented cases of the bar bending in the middle during and impact and causing massive injuries/death.

-If you're looking for roll protection, get yourself one of the cheaper bolt-in roll bars. They'll be perfect for a DD and allow you to run a properly structured harness bar as part of the roll bar, thus avoiding the issues above. If you get a 4pt belt, make sure it has an ASM device, or go for the 6pt. Be warned though, full race harnesses are very impractical and can be kind of headache for a car that gets driven on the street (limited head/neck movement, etc), especially if you're strapped in as tight as needed to be to make the harnesses do their job.

Yes sir, engine bay is a pain to work on. This was one of the first cars ever designed with 3D CAD software. I suspect they had a lot of fun packing things tight because they could, and didn't think about serviceability. I think this is also why the fuel filler neck gets in the way of the control arm.

Concerning the seat, I have read harnesses are very unsafe without a HANS device. I was concerned but the seat belt the way it is still goes over my lap and chest without any slack. I thought about moving the mounting points from the door to the floor/pillar. I think they changed to this in 95ish? This would allow me to run the belt through the harness holes. I probably will eventually. Either way, the car is not my daily and hardly gets driven. I would be much more concerned if I wasn't putting like 1000 miles a year on this car.

I totally agree on the harness bar. Autopower makes a decent bolt in roll bar and I will probably go with that. I mostly want it so I can take my tops off at the track but the harness mount is great too. I also know tech isn't too friendly towards stock belts with aftermarket seats.

Anyway, thank you sir for the advice.

Car looks good man, nice progress. I used vinyl to do my fender stripes, you could use plasti dip too if your still interested in doing them but not permanently.

I haven't thought about it lately but I might try it sometime just to see. Thanks!

Small update for today. I dry iced a bunch of sound deadening out of the passenger side today, and used what was left over to get a patch in the trunk. Also tore a bunch of that soft deadening out. Trying to figure out how to get out the reminants that are stuck on with glue. I'm okay with more noise but the difference really wasn't noticeable driving it after. I got a couple grocery bags full of the stuff and tossed it. It was a lot heavier than I thought, probably 3 pounds give or take. Might pull the speakers too because they suck anyway. I'd like to finish up and get some corner weights. It will probably be very front biased but between the OE seats , the spare tire, and a ton of other odds and ends being out, I'm really curious to see what she weighs in at. Also trying to decide whether to pull all the interior. It looks nice for such an old car but the weight savings would be great. Relocating the battery would be cool too but that's a long way off if it happens.

Did a little more work on the sound deadening in the trunk. I ended up getting the spare tire back out of the attic so i could wedge dry ice alongside it. There is still a lot to go.
