1993 celica alltrac project

I just picked up my newest project yesterday and figured I would start a thread on it. I wasnt planning on buying another car but it was a deal and they are incredibly hard to find. Debating on doing a v6 swap project like I just got done doing for my mr2.

I havent really been active since I was trying not to spend money on cars for a while. Now I can afford to be back in the game after recovering from my last projects.

What support/bumper do you have OUTTOWIN? Is it an rc/cs one

Have front and rear pads & rotors coming tommorrow for the car. Have to bolt the suspension back together in the rear and check out the passenger side rear tire. Its cambered so far in it is rubbing on the body inside. Of course there are no rotors on the car and the rear suspension/drivetrain needs to be bolted back together. Still working on which way to go 3sgte or v6. I need to make another 5vz mount since they arent available anymore.

I gota check and see why Im not getting notices I have a reply. outtowin Ill let you know on the bumper. I have a brand new rc bumper I *should* be getting, I just dont know the status of it yet. Thats a steal and I may take you up on that. I have a 94 celica project as well so moneys kinda split between the two.

I picked up front and rear pads & rotors for the trac to go with my reman calipers I have for all four wheels. Once I get my braided ss lines for the brakes I will put them all together. Also found a bad wheel bearing on the r/r so I have to have to pick up one of those as well. The whole rear end is in pieces in the back of the car for some reason.

I think I may just get a st205 clip so I can complete my 94 celica bodywork to make that 100 percent and have a motor for this trac with all the pieces Im missing.

Not much progress has been made other then cleaning out all the spare parts in the car to see what I had in there. I need a couple of basic things that shouldnt be hard to complete the car. Found my spare tail lights from my 91 as I didnt get the drivers side rear tail light with the parts in the car. I found a large fmic in there with some piping which is a nice & unexpected find.

Options:
5vzfe v6 awd with rav4 transmission: havent got my current 5vz swap project 100% although I have made progress. Seems the simplest of the options as it doesnt have a million lines that come off the block like the 3sgte does.

st205 motor/tranny combo: probably the best option money/ease of completion wise. Other then fuse box and computer complications it would be the easeiest of the options.

st213 motor: convert to this newer motor for cop and other upgrades available to it. It is the most expensive and the hardest to find parts for out of all of them but no more distributor and theres a motor for sale relatively close by I could probably get a pretty sweep deal on.

build the 98+ 5sfe block with my second gen head/buy 3rd gen head: most expensive route for my project and would take alot longer. I have alot of other projects and until I sell my 09 camry, I cant finish them all right now. Would like to DD this car once my trac is gone.

Picked up a bunch of parts for my various projects. Got a rc hood with all the ornaments/hood spoiler/raised washer jets, a set of tail lights, a fuse box, and some other odds and ends. Got several parts for my 94 celica as well which has slowed down the progress on this one. I got 4 projects I am currently working on but Im hoping to have this running in by the end of summer. I will update more when I get the chance.

So far I havent dont anything else with the car except stuff additional parts inside the car as best I can. I have been focusing on my mr2 build for Watkins Glen the end of june and finishing my 94 celica as its the closest to done out of all of the cars Im working on. I do need some suggestions for what color red I should paint the car once I pick up the bumper for it. I have to finish taking my parts transmission apart so I can try mocking up the v6 to see if it will bolt to the awd transmission without any complications. Supposedly one a few of the v6s swapped into mr2s/alltracs will bolt to the alltrac transmission due to clearance issues with the transfer case/axle. If I have to get a rav4 tranny to make it work I will definitely go with a 3sgte clip for the mean time. I do have my mr2 99 percent figured out and running perfect with just a few odds and ends left to do so I am more interested in doing a v6 alltrac then I was previously.

Picked up some more parts for the alltrac project. Got the rc bumper with aluminum support, the cf trim piece that sits under the hood with its brackets, a twm short shifter with painted base complete with bushings, and a switch panel for the center console. My mr2 has been eating up most of my project money with the coming purchase of built heads & a new short block but I am hoping to get the alltrac at least mechanically together by fall.

I tried making a tool to get my awd parts tranny appart (for the 5th gear) and it failed miserably. Guess I will have to find the right tool and pick that up so I can bolt it to my v6 to see if it will clear. Supposedly the 1mz and 3vz v6s will bolt to the awd tranny without issue so there's hope for a v6 swap. Project will be a tow vehicle for my mr2 and I may do some rally cross with it since I have a friend getting into that.

I got alot of work planned for the v6 in my mr2 and I cant really afford two motor/turbo builds at the same time. Maybe someday but not right away. Really depends on how many projects I get rid of and whether or not I go right to a larger turbo off that bat. I may do a smaller turbo on my mr2 and just swap it onto my alltrac when I go for a bigger turbo. As a tow vehicle it really doesnt need it tho.

Got some more parts in the mail and started making progress on this car again. I am swapping 94-99 celica mirrors on in place of those ear mirrors that came factory on the 5th gen. Below are some pictures of the one side done. 94 Celica should be sold soon, my camry may be sold in the next month or so, and sold a bunch of parts this week so I can work on my mr2 motor build will be started in just a couple days.

Some more pictures of the progress. May install the 94 celica mirrors properly tomorrow after I do some more around the house. Im waiting on mounts, clutch & flywheel to drop the motor in. Got solid motor mount inserts coming soon from the group buy I was in.

Been a while since I updated had alot going on. Totalled my DD, got my 94 on the road which needed some work, and picked up alot of parts to get this project going again. ST205 front clip, ST205 rear LSD differential, st185 north-south cross member I was missing, st185 mounts & assorted bits, solid motor mounts, solid rear diff mount & bushings, fender roller, so on and so forth. I rented a garage to work in with air compressor, heat & electricity since pulling the motor from the clip in the snow was not working out as expected. Ill try to keep this thread updated better in the coming months.

Havent posted up in a while about my progress. My subframe is powder coated and ready for the solid bushings, the little bit of rust is cleaned up underneath ready for undercoating again. I have all new hardware for the rear diff, subframe & suspension arms from the dealer as well as brand new front motor mounts & brackets (the ones that are available). One of my boxes filled with parts showed up with a huge hole in it missing over 90 percent of the parts so the post office is trying to locate the rest of the parts some of which I need to even put the car back together.
