Dude, you shouldn't even think about it. W7 is better in every aspect AND it looks better than XP.

You know W7 sets up a giant folder on your hard drive with EVERYTHING that you have on XP, right?

every single windows OS always had AT LEAST 1 service pack. What needs to be fixed isn't discovered yet, which is why you should wait and see.

Yeah, but I have been beta testing(still have my RC installed) for a year and haven't been affected by a single thing. I am dead serious, this OS is pretty fugging perfect.

no other windows OS has gone under such extensive public testing though. there are thousands of machines running W7 at this very instant... mine included

i'd consider the W7 public launch to be safe enough to pick up.

W7 works great on my laptop. I think it is actaly faster then Vista. I can't belive I'm saying that Microsoft has made something decent, but I'm sold.

I have 2 media centers, 1 desktop, and my laptop on 7. Seriously, if your not about an occasional reboot, then wait but I have no issues. The RTM is much more stable than the RC but I am sure driver's are the cause of that.

Put it on a flash drive, ******. I found a mobile "lite" version of W7 on piratebay and it was only 600mb or so. It fit on my 2GB stick and it installed in about 15 minutes. It's super fast and lite and pretty. It's on my Acer ONE.

Yeah, W7 will ask you before it even starts clearing and moving stuff if you wanna do that. The first time I installed it it was either in MY COMPUTER or MY DOCUMENTS, but it was there and I could access all of my files and programs from Vista.

Do you have a retail disc already? I should have my Steve Balmer Signature Edition Windows 7 Ultimate (phew!) in a few days. If you pre-ordered, your disc will ship near the 20th to arrive on Oct 22nd. If you are a developer and attended a few sessions when they were in the area, that's the only way you have a retail disc at this point.
