I know they have to be an SCCA member. I wonder if they will work with you on the price tho. $40 would be steep IMO for someone just riding along, but maybe it has to do with liability & insurance.

They just have to sign the waiver. It should be of no cost.

How do you know this? I asked one of the guys working there (during tech insp) about taking someone with & he told me that they had to be an SCCA member. Did he give me wrong information?

To clarify, I mean sign the waiver and the weekend membership. They should not charge you for the weekend membership if you are just riding along. It helps promote the sport, although I can't guarantee they won't charge a small fee $5 to $15.

thats fine. i would have paid 40 if i had to, although it would be a bit steep for just riding shot gun. i found a girl who actually drives race cars and wants to come along. i must marry her....

I wanted to take my wife along for a ride, but didn't because I wasn't going to shell out another $40 for her to ride 1 or 2 runs..... She watched it & said that she is going to run her WRX in April

This was another very fun event IMO. I really enjoy throwing my rx7 around some cones! Had a fun day racing/hanging out with other racers
