People will use fake rocks, then throw 'em in a ditch filled with identical-looking real rocks. People will use fake bolts that are magnetic, that stick on the sides of bridges and look like real part of the structure. People will hide them in trees so that you have to climb to retrieve them. Some are hidden on islands in the middle of rivers so that you have to kayak or swim out to them. There are some hidden in cliffs that you have to rock-climb for. There's even one on a space station, for God's sake.

So yes, some of them are easy -- kids do this, too. But a lot of adults geocache, and they can be crafty as hell! That's why the caches have difficulty and terrain ratings, so you can make it easy .. or really hard.

And hey, it's better than sitting and feeling my ass become one with the couch.
I didn't realize it was that involved. Probally something I'd actually like to do then.

This is why it sounds interesting.
I totally plan on getting my kid(s)into the outdoors; camping, canoes, all the stuff I wish my parents had done.

I've never heard of geocaching, but after researching it a bit it sounds kind of fun. I'll have to give it a whirl sometime.

This sounds awesome! I can't believe I have never heard of it. Just went to the website you linked and read it to Drew... we're totally going to have to try it.

I went to the site too, but what is the purpose? To clean up litter? All anyone is talking about on that site is trash, literally...

The only thing that would have made it even classier was if you were in San Diego at the time.

Not to go all OT but what happened? Weird that she's wearing a face tent....they're usually used on trauma pts or pts who have nasal packings.

She has attacks where she has trouble breathing. They have her on all kinds of meds and on paper everything is OK but they are basically totally random and they don't know why. She also has RSD (random nerve pain) which is not curable so we think it may be behind it all as in if she gets an RSD attack and her muscles tense up, she can't breathe...just a theory. She's doing better day by day though. The mask is humidified air, they also give her epinephrine treatments and valium to try and open up her airway, as well as morphine during bad attacks and a host of other meds. Oddly, when she has the attacks her oxygen levels don't go down and she won't stop breathing (meaning eventually she WILL breathe), it's just painful to watch her start coughing and then choking but it seems to be more of a nervous thing which is hard to treat. We tried to get her transferred to CHOP and Penn but they don't want to take her
