If karl is busy my buddy is VERY good and tuned my car. Hes been doing it for years and can do AEM EMS, megaquirt, SAFC, Link, etc. he does remote or street tunes. PM me if you need one, he is not busy with anything at the moment. He actually sends me tunes via Facebook because its so quick lol. super easy and in about 4 tune files he had my **** squared away.

oh yeah, I picked up a really fun Eagle Summit Coupe on friday.
It needs front brakes asap, so I'm grabbing GSX calipers/3000gt brake mast cly/mini cooper rotors since I'm gonna need that upgrade for when it's swapped

I have stock Mini rotors (off a JCW) with 38,000 miles on them if interested. Never tracked, no issues, no vibrations or scoring. Make an offer

I don't have time/funds for a full engine/tranny rebuild on my car. I know the issue. it's ****ty pistons, vorn valve seals, and low compression. the solution is a fresh rebuild and tranny redone with new synchros. I'm not going to waste dyno time when a car isn't right. I'd rather **** around on street tunes for whatever time the engine has left. I'm using the car to learn and understand what I need to know BEFORE I drop a rebuilt engine into it and **** that thing up. "put in on the dyno" will not fix any of my issues. guaranteed if i brought it with the 16g setup after about 14deg timing you would have hit a wall of knock. I DID switch to non "P" BR7ES like you said, I think I like them better....so i AM open to advice....it's how people learn.
Chip, my buddy is a good tuner. he doesn't have a huge name and a shop. he has his knowledge. My father is self taught and made 550WHP on his tune, he has no shop or big name either. Sometimes the "little guy" is just as good (or better) than the big guy......as my father learned with Evolution Performance. I can get rotors from autozone for $55 each, I'm just going to grab them new. I believe i need the 1.6L ones...276MM

i blew it by listening to the guy who sold it to me who told me to run off the OFH with a .78 restrictor. he ran it and made 400hp and went T3.
it seems the "REAL" DSM'ers dont leak out information anymore because they are tired of noob questions, so I went to the internetz....I checked online and confirmed the OFH as a consistant source and to use a restrictor. I also checked with Jusmx141 and he said ofh w/restrictor. Dont use head, may be too low for it. guess what happened when i did that. oil starvation. now when I have this guy saying HEAD, and i got that guy saying OFH, and I have the online forums saying OFH, head is inconsistant, and i have a buddy saying HEAD, it sends mixed signals. everyone likes to be super secret squirrel club and whatnot. i'll keep breaking **** till I LEARN. then, when someone asks me i'm gonna tell em what I know. thx for chuckin me under the bus Alex!

To be honest, there is no good answer for that question since every motor setup makes different pressure based on a bunch of things. Best option is to hook up a gauge to each spot and see what pressure it makes at certain RPMs and then make an educated decision based on that. No voodoo magic here...

Haha no problem my 4G63 brother from another mother. One day like the rest of us you will learn. From years of being around these cars, the one thing I learned which isnt even listening to people with more experience, the thing I learned is that is if there is nothing wrong with it there is NO reason to change it, just have to think logically and like a mitsubishi engineer.
There is way too many keyboard mechanics sitting behind a keyboard overthinking every minute detail on these cars, these cars are no reinventing the wheel, for example how many people say OMG WASTEGATE MOUNTED AT THE #1 RUNNER IS SOOOOO BAD NOT EFFICIENT BLAH BLAH BLAH. Quote:
