Not too many but a few, 2 STi's, 2 WRX's, and an Evo, they had gobs of grip and made me feel like a hero but then that was it, there was nothing beyond that for me no next step to driving them. All handling problems are cured with more throttle and holding on for dear life as the car sorts everything out. I totally get that they're fast as ****, get more grip, win races, etc... but for me the fun is in the challenge of driving the car perfectly, slipping the clutch and feathering the throttle just right on a launch to get the tires to hook but not letting the motor bog, balancing understeer and oversteer in a steady state corner, dialing in just the right amount of countersteer and driving the car completely with the gas pedal, etc...

Morning all.........cant wait for tonight!
Rx7 are acually not bad at all. Most owners dont have them tuned right, and pop motors left and right. There very inexpensive to build. Think about it, you dont have to buy new "forged" rotors, they dont have rods, just a assentric shaft, which is basically the crankshaft.

You can get rotors and interchange them from all the years, and build it cheap. Put a good tec3 standalone on them and have a professional tune it. I know 3 guys making big power numbers, driving them to the track, and they havent been apart in over a year busting off low 10 high 9 second passes.

I mean if the cars are so crappy and prone to breaking like everyone thinks then why do they still go for ridiculous amounts of money?

Edit: sounds like I just described a dsm. Lol

where did u drive these cars at? and gobs of grip so im assuming they were close to stock or had decent ass tires lol since my ****ty nanakangs wont even hold road gravel LOL

and ur whole reference to launching the car is the same with an awd car..alot of drivers bog the car at the line more then rwd witch we have to use the same steps as you

the understeering and oversteering you state is 100 percent correct in all when driving through and coming out of a turn(i need to take u in my racecar and well drift coming out and have ur ass scraping the wall ) but in all the awd car is still as a challenge as u do have to require just the right amount of braking and not touching it at all going through the turn so u dont have the push coming out

all in all rwd and awd have there challenges and the drivers have to adapt..ive been racing for 10 yrs now and have been through so many forums of racing and am i licensed driver and i know your a tallented driver yourself ciotti so you out off all people shouldnt be sitting here saying the car does it all for you since you know for fact that this is false but if you dont agree with me then i guess....YOUR NOT THE REAL STIG!

I'm not saying anything about my car, it's a fat slow turd we all know that, all I'm saying is that personally I find the rear wheel drive platform to be much more of a challenge that takes a lot more skill to master but is extremely rewarding and fun when you get it right. I just feel like the AWD platform does too much of the driving for you that's all, I wasn't trying to "own" you or anything dude, just voicing my opinion about the subject and starting $hit with ya for fun because our arguments rule

PS: I am the black stig

And yeah, I'm going to go out and test drive a few, to help narrow down my choices. I want something fast, comfortable, and some room in it. Then my dad's opinion matters too, considering he's an ex car salesman/racer, and my co-signer. Lol, he just thinks I'm crazy for wanting a new car already.

How hot would a white wrx or sti be with purple calipers though =) <33

Problem #1...

275 wide Z1 star specs all around and you could probably hold WOT through every turn

I would have to agree man, half the people that own AWD cars have about as much of a clue how to launch them as do the people that own RWD cars.
And every AWD cars launches completely different. My 3000GT is by far the hardest car to launch, the talon is rather easy, due to the lighter weight/lighter wheels/heavier flywheel etc.

But when you do have a 2 step it makes launching AWD that much easier.
But on the contrary when you get a nice set of tires on a RWD car, like mickey thomson drag radials or any thing of the sort RWD becomes easy to launch too.

By ciottis argument, if he was arguing for AWD drive taking away from the driver in a straite line, drag radials DEF take away from the driver in an RWD platform.

But dude cepa MAD people hate on AWD because its the perfect wheel drive, nothing is more versatile, grippy, and provides u with no bull**** excuses like "ahh **** dawg i burnt off 30 dollars of rubber on the line that's why u won"

There is prolly two cars I would never get, and thats an RWD car and a truck/SUV. I think i would get into way too much trouble with the law if I owned either of the two.

I'm actually going to get home early enough to make it tonight! woot! Most likely I'll be there by 7:30pm only so i cn get some photos during "magic hour" if anyone is there early instead of always getting night shots. So if anyone wants photos show up bit early but lets stay in the far corner of isle 1 so we don't tick of Dicks/Best Buy.

ninja edit: this means you kawi

I call BS. My nanakangs held the road no problem on the road course at E-town. WOT through all the turns FTW. Them nanakangs are awesome budget tires...on an AWD, I guess lol.

Try taking my car around the track, even though it has coil overs, sway bars, and strut bars, the sucker is gonna get sideways when the power hits. When i launch i have to back pedal the **** out of the gas while trying to keep the car straight, if the road starts to kinda hook it hops like crazy and feels like its gonna break something.

When 4 wheels are spinning, its really scary, because if you get too out of control and the tires hook your going that direction PERIOD. **** I can hardly drive it normal. Its like a project.
