that's awesome. we're within a mile or two from the Buck. If he did build the house give him some mad props b/c it's in amazing shape nearly 50 years later. Still has the original oil heater chugging away like it was brand new too.

def get us a pic. Not a huge gazebo fan unless it's large enough to hang out in, but always willing to look at cheap/free stuff

We want to remove the brick and go with a stone and put on a front patio or porch and remove the original front window. I want to redo the basement completely and get that paneling off and put up some dry wall and a nicer drop ceiling. AND we want to put in a sweet detached patio out in the back yard w/ a built in grill and a fireplace/firepit.

oh, not to mention the garage... it is entirely too small for us

thanks jacki!

I just faxed in everything else we need to get this ball rolling with the bank and the realtor. We're really excited to move in and get going with our life together in our own house. And i'm super excited to show Pep his new yard. the dog is going to flip.

Ken I would definitely be doing what you are trying to do. Sometimes those ideas might cost a lot but you are keeping up on the updates out there for houses. My dad has completely changed our houses around from what it was 15 years ago. Almost anything is not what it was back then. Now obviously the upkeeping is going to bring value back to the house. I will try to get a pic to you somehow.

we definitely will be doing things. its a matter of in what order... and how much.

fortunately we know a ton of construction people that owe her pop's a few favors. so we should get a lot at cost and cheap labor.

One thing we really want to do is make the house itself larger in the next 5-10 years. second floor blow out the back.

but that all means... new bathroom upstairs, renovate the first floor bathroom, renovate the kitchen, etc... that's gotta be 60-80k

Who knows, you could possibly be paying more. I know for my pops new garage he got built, that cost well over $100k between everything. Adding a 2nd floor, maybe not as much, but so many costs that you aren't aware of.

They are moving some HARDCORE **** in and out of there today.

I kinda want to stand on the roof and give someone a high-five.

yeah... we gotta keep an eye on the properties around us though. 300k is around the ceiling for the area. I don't want to spend so much that we'd need 400k to get close to what we spent.

granted, i plan on being in that house for a long time. the property is great. but who knows what will happen in the future. we could find something else in 5-10 years

There is a $600 beater in the sale section. It looks like it litereally needs nothing.

Badass app/plugin.

Did you hard-code it or is it from somewhere?

it's directly from facebook http://developers.facebook.com/plugins and is relatively a copy and paste of some of their code to get the comments plugin going. however, it's not nearly as simple as that as there are a number of steps to integrate the site and facebook.
