We had 2-3 strikes that I sware were within 50 feet of our house. The house shook, my ears rang from one of them, and the surge surpressors beeped so they did work. It was only bad for about 45 minutes or so arround 3 am.

ah on another note, turbo and/or head gasket is most likely done for.. losing oil AND coolant. Turbo was kinda a matter of time, if that is really dead.

Morning all. Definitely felt the storm last night at 3am. Then went right back to bed.

You don't usually lose both through a head gasket. At least not that I've heard unless you really mess **** up. That screams turbo to me... But that's easier than a head gasket right? I wonder how you even go about confirming that? Disassemble everything and look for coolant residue in the manifolds.... or maybe there'd be evidence on the plugs.

Yeah last night was definitely very cool. I nearly got struck taking the garbage out. On a positive note, our cat is now using her kitty house and kitty heating pad so she'll be safe and warm all winter. (she's an outdoor cat now).

That reminds me of when I was 16 doing network administration for a small tank company. We decided at some point that surge protectors would be a good idea so we bought a few and protected critical systems. One night lightning struck the telephone pole outside. Every computer except 1 surivived but *every* network card that wasn't protected by a surge protector was toast. As was the T1 CSU/DSU. We probably should have done a building wide solution but it was 1997... we didn't think that way. The whole company shared a dialup 28.8 modem. People were scolded for downloading things ;)

I just got the following email from a car dealer:

"Evo's are done by appointment with a manager (because of the speed of the vehicle) So if you have a time for me on saturday that will help so I can have someone available."

Are you they serious? I guess they think i am a 16yr old with no way of actually buying the car. Cause if i actually go and they bring up that point with me, i will tell them that under no circumstance will i ever purchase a car from them now or in the future.

I've been treated like crap from dealers before when looking at preformance cars. I only found 1 dealer that was truely good and it was Tom Oates. He let me take a C5 Z06 home for a weekend when I wasn't sure if I wanted the GTO(4 seater) or the Vette(2 seater).

I walked away from several dealers because they wanted me to put a deposit or run my credit before the test drives. I also reported everyone of them to the BBB.

When I was younger that I couldn't drive the car in a test drive, I could only be a passenger. I was 21 and it was when the GTOs just came out. I wanted a brand new one.

Angelo they obviously don't know how old you are. It could even be a 50 year old and they wouldn't know. I don't know if I would be able to do service with them. Heck, you can get any car to go as fast as you want. What a joke.

yup, happens to me all the time. I talked to this dealership over the phone about possiable trading my Mugen SI for a 91 NSX. And the guy said "Listen kid, i doubt mommy and daddy would be happy if you did that with their car. And even so, i doubt you could afford the insurance on it at your age."

I snapped at him over the phone and hung up on him. I guess when you say you own a 08 SI or a 92 Civic SI, the automaticcly assume you're a 16-20 year old kid.

wouldn't have done anything to change the fact

but, i think the worse one was when i was stationed in washington state, i before i went on my second deployment, i wanted to look at a mustang GT v-8. i asked if i could test drive one, they said no, but i could drive a automatic v-6 one. I asked to speak to his boss, he came out, and told me "We have a issue with young people like beating on our cars during test drives."

I told him i was 25 and in the military, he said "All the more reason not to let you drive one."

meh its mostly cause of insurance purposes. i doubt he had any intention of implying your young or couldnt afford one. you have to realize they probably have like 5 people come to test them and 2 arent serious so they have to be like that.

That is the nature of business. Not every customer is serious or is gonna buy... but you still gotta treat them fair.

That would be like me working for BMW and saying sorry your black, go check out Kia. It is f'd up.
