"For you to charge people to come to sonic and pay money to park in a PUBLIC spot is dumb in my book."

Please understand that it cost people absolutely nothing, other than paying for their food, to go to Sonic; that parking lot was reserved and sectioned off for a Leukemia and Lymphoma Society sanctioned and sponsored event benefiting children's cancer research. If you wanted to be in the show, then you registered - if you just wanted to come and eat, it didn't cost you a cent more than normal.

Just wanted to clarify that, no disrespect intended.

That said, Sonic donated 10% of their day to LLS, on behalf of our foundation, and that's simply and majorly cool. Their crew was slammed, even with the light turnout...I can't imagine how they would have been hopping if we would have had 200-250 cars.

There will likely be at least 2 more events before fall/winter. One has been tentatively set in August there at Sonic, and the other is at Arnold's in Oaks in September - more info to come on those.

We'll do things a lot different, or at least somewhat differently, mainly charging less for entrance, having formal vendor agreements, and fabbing up crossbars for the sawhorses to the wind doesn't blow them down.

I'll also be making a much stronger effort aimed at classic cars, old hot rods, Corvettes, an RX-7 club, Minis, and Miatas.

Jim, if you send me some info on your cause and future events I would be glad to pass them out at the Cystic Fibrosis car show in August. You can contact me via PMs or email at turbotalon69@yahoo.com

First off I'd like to say the band enjoyed the event even if the turnout was low. I love cars, they love cars, and cars are a good time. I wasn't too aware of whatever was happening during the show involving the speedfreaks crew and the event workers, but i'm sad to hear that something like that went on. I also hope that whoever was talked down to/hurt in anyway by "tomfoolery" should be apologized too. It's a charity event and people didn't show; however, that is no excuse to act below an adult level.

However, that being said, I wasn't truly paying attention. I had to tend to my friends and such. But I trust Jim's word as to what happened, and to be honest, we can do better!

And obviously i'd like to thank Jim. Regardless of the turnout/events during the show, it was a good time and experience, and hey, the first one is always troublesome, right? Hopefully we (TST) will turn out in a bit more force next time!

Good point- I dropped in a fresh topic about the show, but it may have been too late.

Ok.. i would just like to say to all these folks that are saying stuff about things they have no idea of..the flyer that we were givin said and was stated up top somwhere that.. "entry fee to be judged 20$ before and 25$ the day of" so we and others assumed you could go to a PUBLIC PLACE (parking lot) and just check out some cars and throw a couple bucks towards the cause which is fine. OHH AND RICH BOYS!! come on now.. if i was a "rich boy" would i drive an srt4.. NO.. (nothing against SRT's cuz i love mine, but i'm just sayin) everyone on the SPEEDFREAKS CREW works blue collar jobs everyday. And as far as cursing out some lady goes.. i dont see that happening.. probably just blown outa proportion..

so long story short.. i agree with the guy that said we didnt know what was goin on cuz we didnt .. we heard "car show" and we were there.. so if theres any problems in the future.. please.. let us know.. all it woulda took was someone to say "hey guys, i'm sorry but this is a CHARITY thing and you HAVE TO PAY or you have to leave" (note the bold words)

AND WE WOULDNT HAVE 5TH GRADE DRAMA OVER AN INTERNET FORUM!!!

There was no "to be judged" category at this show - you either paid to enter or you didn't. Just to clarify.

It wasn't a public place for that day, it was reserved and insured as a charity event, as well as sectioned off from the rest of the parking lot.

"The tool who hosted the event" allowed you to stay, despite your language and conduct after you realized it wasn't a free show. Sorry about that, it was a charity event.

I apologize if you took my lame attempt at a joke as a slam - you had cool cars, and I was just interjecting humor, since I hoped you had a sense of humor, after I had said some heated things about some other show guests.

Sorry for the lame attempt. It obviously didn't work. I'm old.

it was however stated on here, the website and im pretty sure on the flyers that awards would be given out at 8 pm.......leading most people to believe that there was to be awards and judging of some sort, itd prob be best to remove that part so that there isnt any confusion next time around....either that or actually have awards and judging.....and it has nothing to do with people wanting theyre egos stroked with a trophy like you stated in a previous post.....personally,i was under the impression that there would be an award(s) of some sort so we hung around all day to see such, so we were kinda bummed about there not being...it had nothin to do with egos
