Jeez, giving Jared a run for his money.

Haha, except that I hate Subway. I went from eating no breakfast and eating basically every meal out to always eating breakfast, coming home to make my own lunch, and cooking dinner at home almost all the time. I upped my fiber, complex carbs, healthy fats, fresh fruits and vegetables, lean protein, low saturated fat, low sodium, and the weight basically flew off. I was up to around 240, down to 169 and no intention of going any lower, just trying to find the discipline to go to the gym and tone up/build muscle.

You're my new idol. I am, too, trying to get down in that department except I strength train along with all the cardio I do. You've inspired me, man.

Heads up, we're all going to die. Just thought you should know that for the next time you starve yourself instead of eating what you want. Have fun!

LOL, woah there, I liked the first reply better. I didn't starve myself at all, I always ate whenever I was hungry. I still ate pizza occasionally, still went out occasionally, still had desserts, just in moderation. Hell, I had a cupcake earlier today and some ice cream after dinner, but the goal over the last 8 months was to eat for nutrition and not empty calories. Instead of eating a bag of chips I ate a banana or some nuts, something that would fill me up and actually do something for me.

I struggled with being overweight my whole life, now I'm 27 and I weigh less than I did in high school. I had no nutritional value growing up, my parents rarely cooked meals at home, and it stuck with me through college and when I traveled so much for work. When I realized last October how bad my vitals had gotten (my blood pressure was up to 151/89) I decided it was time to make a change. I was never on a diet, I just made a lifestyle change to be a healthier person.

That is awesome.

I hope I never lose Willy -- I honestly don't know if I'd have the drive and determination to succeed at altering my lifestyle like that.

damn can i move in for a couple months? no homo. i rarely have food in my house so trying to buy food all the time to make dinner is making me broke. but ive been hitting the gym a lot more and ive lost 20 lbs. i now fit back into 36s. still a little tight in the thighs but the waist fits with room to spare. my 40s are huge on me.

I'm holding off until fall because I don't want to go on a hot miserable day. It has been a few years since I've been. Last year I went to Baltimore Aquarium while visiting the big sister. That was pretty cool.
