There may be a busted bushing allowing something to move (would explain why I feel a shunt/vibration through the car every time it pops)

There may be a broken or loose bolt.

Again, I don't understand how the noise happens once per wheel rotation so regularly, makes me believe something is wrong with the axle or diff but how the noise appears and disappears under different ammounts of load on the suspension put me into a total confusion.
sounds like a bad cv. You have a clunk every rotation which means it is either trans, driveshaft, diff, or cv/axles. If its from the rear, its not the trans. If it varies with suspension load, likely then the axles--as the angle of the axle changes so does the "clunk". Have you checked the boots to make sure they're not torn? Even if they are intact you could have busted it launching at the strip. Good luck...

I was thinking the same thing. I had a similar issue. It turned out to be a few teeth missing from the ring gear. Good luck. I hope it's something cheap.

Could be...the car wheelhops a TON, especially in the rain so it's very likely to be that. I'm just waiting for a nice day to tear it apart.

Thanks for your advice, I really apreciate anything since noones really been able to put a finger on it.

Back from 08 when Spock and I went to NY. I'll never forget the look on the new M3 owner's face when I was weaving around with a Murcielago, Cayman S, and himself getting to the first meet spot.

So I finally stepped up to the plate and decided to get my tint done. A friend of mine owns a tint/alarm shop and a few weeks ago when I was there watching I said "tinting looks easy" and I was presented with a challenge.

If I could tint my own windows and have them come out presentable I wouldn't have to pay for the job. If I did them and they came out rough, I would pay $30 in material cost. Tint used was SunTek 35%. In the end after lots of yelling and mistakes, I handed over $30. So far the sides are finished, I will be back to do the rear tomorrow. The tint looks decent to me, but there are some rough edges and things that you have to look for. Overall for $30 I think it's pretty decent work considering I've never tinted a car before. Tint was hand-cut

Also snagged this at the meet. S2000/Civic Si OEM Shift knob. Need to tap the threads on it more to make it fit but I like it.

i started to learn how to tint on my own car recently. it not that hard, just takes a little practice. the key is to make sure you REALLY clean the window well, and learn how to use a heat gun to shrink the tint when working with curved glass.

Yeah, there's definately a good bit of skill to it. If I had to go back and re-do my sides, I would have definately prepped them better, and probbably used a razor to make sure they were completely clean, I have a few small spots where there are tiny bubbles that have tiny stuff in them.

Honestly its stuff you have to look for. For how often I have the windows up it makes little difference to me. The imperfections are pretty small and you can't really see them unless I point them out or you really examine the work so me paying for more film and spending more time on it is meh.

Today I want to get my rear window done and if he has a tap and die set, I want to get that Si knob threaded out and installed in the car. I can't wait, my friend has one in his prelude from an S2000 and says it made shifting so much better.

nice work for the first time. Mine was the same way when I did the impreza on my own no matter what I couldnt avoid that one little bubble or something. Then doing the back window I would always end up with a small crease or something. Thats when I took it to SOG, I have too much OCD and I get really annoyed with the bubbles and ****

Is that knob counterweighted?

If so... they make a huge difference from stock. You'll like it.

Not sure what counterweight is but it does have a good bit of bulk to it compared to my knob. 2-3x heavier I'd say. It's basically like a skunk 2 knob but leather wrapped (will go nicely with my seats). Ugh can't wait to get it in.

Counterweight is basically being heavier than stock as you described.

You'll notice a nice difference. It'll look good in there too
