That sucks! Glad your ok though! Good thing you had insurrance. My friend wants me to do an hpde with him soon and I want to, I'll make sure I pay for insurrance.

I could see you in another mustang. I saw you were considering an s2k? Please get one! I really want to see what you do with it, and they are so fun to drive

I got a call form the track day insurance company. Because of the value of the insured aftermarket parts on the car, they have to reevaluate the damage and it might not be totaled. It feels like this is taking forever.

Yea, in the two weeks since offically filign the claim, I know nothing new that's useful to me and I've missed out on buying cars to replace mine because of it.

Next time I'm using the other track day insurance company that would have cost me $10 more. I heard they are much faster at processing claims.

And the other thing I forgot to mention. The HPDE insurance policy mentions that the vehicle is declared a total loss if the damages exceed 70% of the total value of the car and modifications. They valued the car and modifications at just under $28,000. 70% of that is value between $19,000 and $20,000. The initial damage estimaes are between $19,000 and $20,000 but are expected to be higher. So now I wonder what the delay in declaring the car totaled is?

I reminded the claims person about the 70% limit and the claims person from insurance company called me back. They are finally totaling the car since the estimates are 70% of the value or higher. This coudl have been finished last week, but it got dragged out another week.

I'll believe they've totalled it when you have a check in your hand.

The replacement vehicle has been found. I'm just waiting for the credit union to send me the check so I can purchase it.

The hints are:
project "Naughty Secretary/Bad Libraian" won't be happening
Its RWD
It has a lopey idle

I hope it's a C5 with an aftermarket cam... but it's probably a 2011 GT with the silly "lope" tune.

No C5 due to not enough room to carry my stuff for work.

No lopes or antelopes tuned this car.

I was in the same situation when I was pricing them out before I bought mine with JCWs being in the 20-28 range, and then I picked up my 06 with every option except the sport package, nav, and backup for 17.
people are unloading the GPs (which has all the JCW parts and is a little more track oriented) for 20-22k.. I am actually in the process of negotiating my way into one I told you Id be back taylor!

::edit::

just read you found a car, and its not a mini

There are some good deals out there on minis, but I decided on something a little bigger with a lot more power.

That looks excetly like the 2012 BOSS 302 I was driving around in recently. They are sweet cars. Unfortuantely MSRP + $5,000 dealer markup makes me think that I'd be better off buying a track only car, daily driver/tow vehicle and trailer and paying the storage fees to keep the car and trailer elsewhere.

For the price BOSS 302's are selling for, I'd rather buy a 2012 5.0 GT with 3.73's and Brembos then do the suspension and other track use upgrades myself.
