Dont you hate it when youre trying to surf the forums, and your BOSS calls you and makes you actually do some work?

Starting on my sister's Christmas present today.

She grew me a few ivy plants two years ago -- using cuttings from ivy plants she'd had for almost fifteen years. But when she moved into her new house this past fall, all her ivy plants died for some reason.

So I'm gonna (try to) start her another generation of those same ivy plants. No idea what I'm doing, though.

Miracle grow is wonderful. Just get a bag of that then put the ivy cuttings in a pot that is relative to the size of the plant itself. (Don't go too big, otherwise the plant could die.) After you plant the trimmings, press down on the soil around the plant then put more loose soil on top of that. Water heavily when you are done potting then put the plants in an area of the room where they can get a lot of sun. Water every other day, just not as heavily.

You doing them indoors or out? Indoors theyll grow very well under compact flouros (those little twisty bulbs). If youre doing indoors, you can keep the lights on for 18-24 hours a day if you want, theyll grow a little faster. Vegetating plants dont need a dark phase.

Easiest way to take cuttings and root them is to cut the plant at a 45 degree angle, dip the stem in rooting gel if you have it, and put them into dirt. Yes, dirt. Plants will generally root faster in dirt than straight water. Be sure the dirt NEVER dries up, and 100% humidity for cloning is ideal. An aquarium with a covered lid is what i use. Set the pot on top of some rocks, and pour a shallow layer of water into the bottom. (so you have sitting water in the tank, but the pot isnt directly sitting in the water). You should have roots pokin out the bottom in 10-14 days.

You should grow dandylions then randomly plant them in your neighbots yard. It was be funny to see their face when they have full grown weeds out of the blue.

I kill every plant I ever have. I think I don't care enough to follow through with taking care of them. I really would like to have plants in the house though. Meh.

I just pictured you flailing your hands in the air and tossing your scarf back when you said that.
