I used to play softball. I was a pitcher. Not anywhere near as quick as others but extremely accurate, which was enough for me. Kinda miss playing. Kinda don't. I didn't miss getting hit by all the fast, wild pitchers in the league.

I know lots of people don't consider horseback riding a sport..even though it's one of the most dangerous sports, IMO.

But that **** hurt. Falling off, that hurt. Getting bucked off, that hurt. Sitting to a canter hurts your legs and ass bones.. Actually, a lot of stuff involving REAL horseback riding hurts.. I don't mean pony rides or trail rides lol.

They really arent as expensive as everyone thinks they are. My friend has owned a few. Routine stuff isnt bad...like anything its when unexpected things come up.

lol no unexpected things like if they get sick or injured.

My friend has always rescued her horses. I think the last one she got for $2500.

sick and injured is what i meant as well...

2500 isnt bad for a rescue... but you still gotta worry about the above unexpected things due to not knowing their history. however, i wouldn't get a horse, from anywhere, unless i knew i'd be able to take care of those unexpected things... i'd probably set aside a savings account just for that actually...

Yup, exactly. You def need an emergency fund.

$2500 is a lot for a rescue too. Most are under $1000. You really gotta know what you are doing when shopping for a horse though. So many can be drugged up to look sound..given a few days they will be totally lame after the drugs wear off.

oh yeah, this all reminds me of the time when i went to OC , MD... they have those wild ponies all over the place. Me and my g/f at the time rented a small motor boat and went to one of the islands in the bay to fish... and wouldn't ya know it... a god damn pony came up about 40 ft behind us and started rolling around in the sand on its back.
