hey looking for a first gun. did some research and wanted to know ur opinions. im looking to get a glock26 sub compact. my local gun store has one for 512 with night sights. is that pretty good? was also going to get a plus 2 mag. and also what a some good ammo to pick up. thanks

Is that new? If so, it's a great price,. one of the cheapest I've heard of.

yea brand new at target world. plus they give u 2 hours at the indoor shooting range. pretty cool. its 469 without night sights. whats some good ammo. something for the range and then so hollow points for when i carry?

Winchester white box for the range, and federal hydra-shoks for carry.

Do NOT put +p through that gun.

Do you know any other pistols which you shouldn't use +P ammo? I am not well versed in ammo.

I should have said don't use +p as a practice round for that G26, but anyway...

There are way too many guns to list that you shouldn't use +P ammo in, and it varies from make, model, and year. Lots of manufacturers claim it's okay to use +p ammo, yet they also say that it will void the warranty. The best bet is to read through your owners manual and see what it says, and if you have any questions just contact the manufacturer on whether or not it's okay to use it. The GLOCKS are an odd exception, as GLOCK claims it's okay, yet the reported amount of kaboom's for running +p and +p+ are astonishing. Perhaps it's do to repeated use of +p, who knows, GLOCK won't say. Either way, I'm sure there are still a lot of people out there running +P and +p+ without the slightest of problems. For self defense loads, so few rounds are fired that it won't put the stress that repeated practice rounds will. There are probably more guns that CAN handle +p than not, but do to accelerated wear, the manufacturers sides with caution. That just makes me feel as though the user should do the same.
