What happened last night with Nastia? I saw that they had the same score but was placed in second? Did she win the silver? If so, she really did get screwed. Even the commentators were saying that she made far less errors than the Chinese girl. That's what sucks about events like this. They can be so biased.

I was just reading an article where it said that this very same judge gave her a very low, unfair score the last time he/she judged her as well. Seems as if this judge has it out for her.

well apparently they came up with some stupid ass tie breaking system that really screws people over, i however, did not see the uneven bars fiasco but she keeps getting the shaft

so this is how the tie-breaker went, i think:

your score = combined average of 5(?) judges scores. for tiebreaker the drop the highest score and lowest score....which basically negates the original score as an accurate depiction of an average.

i don't even know how to describe it, but when you have a score based on average, you can't then go and subtract 2 of the contributing scores, it changes the original average, which makes the new score irrlevant. BAH!!! i can't explain this for ISH! :D

so happy for Shawn Johnson, she finally got her gold. Her story w/ her chinese coach and everything, is one of the best stories of the games too. I love her. She is such a good kid, cute as a button (though i never understand that analogy) and damn athletically gifted too.

So nice to see hard work payoff for good people. I was tearing up a bit....

Usain Bolt broke Michael Johnson's 200m record in the final last night...he's ridiculous. Then apparently, both the 2nd and 3rd place finishers were disqualified for stepping on lane lines and two other americans got silver and bronze.

ah..... Usain Bolt is pretty fast. in case we hadn't discussed that yet. so is he considered fastest sprinter of all time? Since he set records in the 100 AND 200... i would think so. he's still young too. 21?

And he was basically showboating as he cruised past the finish line. I think he could have taken a couple tenths off still...

He celebrated before the line in the 100m, I think they said he ran hard through the finish in this one, looking at the clock at the end. I guess we'll see tonight when it's on TV.
