Yea I couldnt make it either. Blew the oil seal on the turbo. No biggie on that though. Im just more upset I missed the show. I always look forward to it every year for the nice turn out of car and good conversations with friends. I honestly think that 99% of the people there could care less about winning a trophy at the show. Sure they bring their clean, prepped car. I just think a lot of people just go there to hang out and shoot the shyt. Its all for a great cause.

It's hard not to take some of the criticism personally after pouring 7 years into the show with the same 7 guys, but it's cool. I will say this however, every year (since year one) the only complaint we've ever gotten has been about judging. I would welcome anyone on this thread and on this board to assist with the judging. If you have ever judged 175 cars in about hour and a 1/2 you know it's not the easiest thing. As others have stated, we do the best we can w/ the time we have and we give out 13 trophies. That leaves a lot of other people with nothing and that's just the way it is. It doesn't mean we hate their cars or think less of them. We do the show for one reason and one reason only - to raise money for CF. All of us involved have been affected by the loss of friends with CF. People don't know it, but we have people there with CF present at the show every year. We do it for them.

For those of you who have been unhappy with the judging, this year or prior years, you may be getting your wish. One of the things we discussed at our post-show meeting is a particpant (registered car ownwers only) voted show that utilizies an envelop system. The Coopersburg Car Show uses this method every year and seems to work extremely well. That takes all the judging off our shoulders (helps us enjoy the day more) and puts it on the collective you. More on that as next August rolls around.

If you have any other thoughts or suggestions, PM me and I'd be happy to jot down your ideas for consideration for next year.

In the meantime, thanks to all who came out and helped make it possible. We get larger every year, so we must be doing something right

Honestly, I don't think there's a way to please everyone at one time. As I recall the first and second year were judged by the crowd and when you get a large group together you usually end up with something winning that shouldn't have(1987 suzuki samurai that shouldn't have even been in the show, and wound up taking best in show.) Any possible way of doing it someone will be upset with judging, or anything else, it just seems like car people are hard to please. Just my .02

I agree, I don't think that participant judging is the best route to go.

We've gone back and forth over the years about having the crowd judge, but there are always too many problems that arise. I think maybe bringing in outside judges for each class might be an option for the future. Anything that gives us more time to enjoy the day.

You're right, that is the hard part, pleasing everyone. I think it was 2 years ago we gave Best in Show to a crazy Mustang Saleen that came with GV and people gave us flack saying we only gave them a trophy b/c it was a "sponsors car". This year we steered away from the sponsor vehicles a bit more and some people seem to upset by that. As previously stated - not everyone is going to be happy. (Just as an aside, sponsor vehilces were not entirely overlooked, as I remember assult187 GST almost took a trophy).

Yeah, it is a great motor. The one the car should have come with IMO. Glad you dug it. Put a lot of work into it over the last few years.

I'd love any hi-res' you have. Can never have too many pictures of your car right?! turbotalon69@yahoo.com is my email.

I appreciate it.

About voting, I am honestly OK with how it was done this year. I know not everyone is going to be happy and I let it go at that. If anyone has a good suggestion it is taken into account but I don't think the system needs a huge over haul.

I have an idea or two that I'll discuss at the next meeting we have for 09'
