Mileage, color, year?

I'd believe it if it was a Laguna Seca Blue 2001 with 60k+ miles. If not, was it hit? Or is your brother just doing someone a favor by offering a REALLY good price?

An e46 M3 with 240,000 miles on the engine went for just under $30,000 on Ebay not too long ago.

I was looking at a 2001 M3 about a year ago with 30k miles on it, from Car Max and it was 34,000. Probably could have gotten it for around 29-30 being that my family member works there.

anyone remember the 01 M3 i had up for sale on here a few weeks back? well the car was sold for a new 335i in dark blue over grey. dealership hasnt called him yet to say its in but when he gets it ill be sure to give you guys my opinion on it vs. the M3 after i drive it. i dont think it is going to feel as sporty as the M3 but it should be a good car none the less.

and about the new V8 M3, welcome back to the age of horsepower battles in the auto industry. IMO we need another gas crisis to put us back on track.
Yes. I was very suprised they used this Technology with the Z4M, I had this feature on my E90 330i, im glad its in this one too.. it really helps on large inclines.

I'm sorry to tell you, the Z4M Coupe Slaughters the 335i, Accel, speed, twisties. I really hope you buy the car, and i guess since I am not very knowlegdable on BMW products. In your statement you should Either Beat me, or keep up with me. 20K less? I dont think so. Am i upset I spent 10K more than I could have on a 335, no. The clutch is flimsy just like in my E90, but I notice it even more now. Same with the trans. You can sit there all day long and tell me how stupid I am and blah blah blah. Whatever you say. I have owned 4 times the amount of cars you have, and BMW has been in my family for years. I have driven many cars. Would I buy another BMW non M car, NO, unless it was an SAV like an X5 or something. I am trying to give you a bit of advice that will save you headaches after you buy the car. Its a first year car, things will break, they have glitches. 2 major ones right now are Engine Blowing up and Overheating.

What was the case when the S54 engine was introduced the first 2 years... Everyone was blowing up their Sh*t...

So back to the point. S54 6 year running, won awards, now a Proooooven Power plant, flawless and bullet proof, in an e46 body that has also been around for years (timeless design) and all the glitches have been taken car of

Or a new twin turbo engine with new technology, that NO ONE has done a long term test on for reliablity yet. Who knows what will happen.

Heres a bit of insider info. 11 of the E92 twin turbo engines that have been tested, Only one car has some decent miles on it. 28,792 to be exact, Tested in the USA in the desert. the other 10 test mules are under 7K miles. hmmmmmmmmm

But since I dont know anything.... please buy the car. its an awsome car for the daily driver and it looks good. Its the hot new thing...

Also let me know how your modding is going...
Your not too smart and really don't know that much about bmw's but thats ok. Just because you own them doens't mean you know anything. Since when did s54's stop blowing up and since when did u think it was only a two year span. That engine has more problems. I know people now with 2006 built engines that the car dies every morning when they start it and they have to crank it a few times. Sounds reliable to me... not. Oh and let me be impressed by your z4m oh wait i am not. Atleast the 335 will be tunable your car on the other hand will only make real power if you put over 10k into it and that is being generous. How much did you pay for that car, no need to answer cause its too much. Anyway i am sure your stupid comeback to me will be you own a subaru what do you know. Well guess what alteast i have a car that doesn't need a 2k exhuast to make 2.347 hp.

I agree with some of what you've said, but claiming that you are better than someone else because your car makes cheaper power? Granted, I agree with you that MpoweredM is a little over the top, but generalizing that anyone who owns an M3 or S54 equipped BMW made a bad decision based on YOUR taste in modding cars is a little ridiculous.

I could care less about how much hp/$ the M3 can make. Frankly, if you are buying the M3 to dump money into for large power gains, you are buying the wrong car.

In regards to the engine, the startup problem your friend has is due to the ethanol junking up the fuel pump. The only notable engine issues were the rod bearing issues of 2001 and the VANOS issues in 2004. You might pass on the message to him to stop putting ****ty gas in the car and/or leaving the key in position 1 for 10 seconds prior to trying to crank it

Yea it sucks. I went through2 fuel pumps in the E90. Cold starts were really bad, after the motor would crank the motor would vibrate the entire car, RPMS would go from 700 to 1100 before the car was actually warmed up. Lost about 2 MPG on average too.
