Sorry Pandagirl. I dont really care about big power numbers, or beating you in a 1/4. Your motor definitely does hold more power, mine wasnt meant to. My car was meant to run for more then a week,be rwd, handle better then anything in its price range and be a fun car. You can have all the rest though.

lol at of all my friends that own DSMs. i dont know one with a blown motor. mine for instance , other **** breaks.. like my fender decided to just cave in one day and i couldnt open my door haha

and i think that a awd turbo chanrged car for under 5k is good for its price range.

BTW the young ignorant kids that own the cars blow them up, the motors dont blow them selves up

ive been daily driving and betaing the s*** out of my DSM for over 2 years and the car has also been over 20psi for over a year. aside for me neglecting the breaks ive never had a problem with the car

alex on a DSM what's known to break? at the meet the other week i heard of people talking about 4 bolt or 5 bolt and i had no idea what they were talking about. i know it had to do something with crankwalk.

yo they where talking about 6 bolt engines vs 7bolt engines, 7 bolt engines are in the 92.5 to 99DSMs and will crank the 6Bolt engines came in 90-92.4 years and those are the good onnes that dont crank walk.

sean i think ur the only one that really has an idea of why these things fall apart, 17 year old kid plus 1500 to 2000 dollar boosted car = a forum full of dumb kids wondering why there **** blew up.

thing is ur bound to do way more damage with a turbo car then an NA car, i honestly think there is like 2 ways to blow up an NA car, run the motor without fluids or downshift from 4th to 1st at like 100 miles an hour.

I think the 4g63 block is great, so are the vw 1.8t blocks, but it seems like everything attached to them is made of paper mache. Combined with being very widespread and popular, it's not surprising that idiots get their hands on them, and in turn have them down 9 months out of the year. I'd get one, but at the rate things are going, it's safe to say that probbably 8/10 DSMs on the market are duds because of how they were treated.
