Well.

Stopped at the body shop today, to really discuss with them about the car.

Reason it isn't totaled, is because they are going to attempt to straighten out the pillar and not replace it, because to replace it, requires the entire rear quarter and front a-pillar into the firewall to be cut out, and rewelded. They think it's possible to fix without doing that, I think it's retarded, but it's not my say there. So with that said, they said that may change, and if it does, then things will need to be seriously reconsidered because the work triples at that point and the parts jump another 3k at least. It's no where near totaled at their current estimate, however, I will be calling the insurance company tomorrow morning and seeing what my options are.

Also with the apparent case of the tree being a major complaint and needed to be brought down before this happened and wasnt done, I'll have some argument there in at least getting loss of value and maybe even the property owner to cover it through their insurance. I've already started talking to other body shops about this type of damage. I'm not letting this just be a fix and give back, cause if it is, I will drive it straight to a dealer and trade it on a GT-R or something /sarcasm, but srs at the same time.

sounds to me like that body shop is wingin it

I dont like that. its a ****in insurance claim, you'd think they'd want to make the money doing the more expensive work

Which is why I'm uncomfortable with it. Their argument is, it's one of the cleanest maintained cars theyve seen come in there, and theyre a higher end shop. He was shocked he couldnt find any scratches on it for 43k miles ;) So they want to minimize cutting up the unibody if they dont have to, I can kinda see that, but not when it's my friggin door pillar that's in sync with the rest of the structure of the car.

Today can suck a bag of dicks.

I love when people are only around, or call you, when they need something. Like someone i thought was one of my best friends...... I planned his bachelor party, i shot his wedding.... I wasnt even in the wedding.... We went out in the group that we usually do on wednesdays. He called everyone in the group but me. he can suck my ****ing taint. he's not getting his wedding photos either.

oh yeah, and **** family.

Im in the same boat kind big jim.
My friends will call me and blow up my phone if they need help with their car,and ill go over even if its my only day off.
IE: on my only day off one week,i spent it with my buddy putting a bunch of suspension pieces on his car and dialing it in.

But when I need help,no one is to be found,and ignores the calls. fair weather friends. but theyve always been like this,ive known em since we were 5 years old

does anyone know how to install a cb radio? is it just running the power straight to the battery?

I would run a fused wire. Better yet fused relay setup.

relay from ignition wire off radio, with power source coming from battery.
