It's 14,000$. I don't know much about the DSM game, but even being in that condition with such low miles can he really hope to get 14k for a 98 Eclipse? That just seems crazy.

No - he won't get 14k. I could see 9-10k though for sure.

As for the automatic thing........I guess you aren't a DSMer, but just FYI the auto is a much more stout transmission option for those planning to build big power and drag race in their DSM. Brent Rau was really the first to seriously race the auto and when he started going 8.XXs with it everyone else pretty quickly hopped on the bandwagon.

If you think about it:

Purchase price of my brothers 5spd gsx new in 1998:

Price in 1998: $26,788
After inflation (year 2011): $36,686

Garage kept for how many years, cannot actually buy one with 0 miles today lol. In 1998 dollars, his asking price is $11,000.
Holy cost cutting. By driving it for 15k miles and storing it for 15 years, he is losing $22,000 (2011 dollars).

True. Most sub 9 second drag dsms are auto. I think the exception to that rule may be john sheppard. But his is like a stage 4 if im not mistaken. Completely different animal.

Curt Brown is also running 9.10's in his 1g on a shep stage 4 trans. It can be done, but its easier and cheaper to just swap to auto.

that's about right for a gxp. When I was looking for one they were going for 27 to 32k with more miles. I was lucky when I found my GT especially for the price and mileage that was on it.

Yeah I've seen threads like this before but there always making fun of bad ads. But this is a good idea to help people out. Around here a header like that would go for twice that.

The header in question is for an inline 4, not a horizontally opposed subaru motor. That's why it's here, not because it's a good deal. If you never had a car with a boxer motor, you probably would not realize why it's funny. So don't feel bad.

I was going to say it certainly isn't a WRX header.
